The Tea Party – Alarum Lyrics 13 years ago
I don't necessarily agree, as I think a number of those songs have independent meanings which don't relate to your theory. (Eg Psychopomp seems to be about Death (or an underworld spirit) paying a visit to a man who lived his life to excess and is now paying the ultimate price).
But I still love the rock opera theory. And I suppose songs can take on different meanings in different contexts, so the idea of the rock opera isn't completely discredited even if the songs have different meanings outside the context of the rock opera story.

The Tea Party – These Living Arms Lyrics 14 years ago
I've never thought too closely about these lyrics until now, but I think you're right. Even the title 'These Living Arms' indicates that he's comforted by the life in her arms but that his life is fading.
Always loved this song, even more so now, but for me its now a much sadder song. Prior to this I just thought it was about a man who drew strength from being with his woman.

Johnny Cash – The Man Comes Around Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is about Judgement Day, Armageddon, or whatever you wish to call it. 'The Man' being God. The verse which begins: "Whoever is unjust let him be unjust still, Whoever is righteous let him be righteous still, Whoever is filthy let him be filthy still" is a quote from the Book of Revelations.

Pearl Jam – Save You Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm pretty sure the correct lyric is "treble" - as in you only hear the treble and not both the treble and the bass. In other words, you're only listening to one side of the story or you're only listening to the bad/negative thoughts in your head.

The Tea Party – Transmission Lyrics 14 years ago
During a live recording for Triple J in Australia, Jeff Martin explained what the song was about. Paraphrasing, he basically said the song posed a question, which was...what if the way we lived our lives, with all its decisions and its ups and downs, what if at the end of our lives we had to come back at the beginning and live it all over again in exactly the same manner, again and again, for all eternity. If so, how would you choose to live your life?
