I think this song is about getting over a breakup, and being so aware of the other person's absence from your life because you're so accustomed to it, "The face that you see in the door isn't standing there anymore" , and saying that only time can really fix it when the relationship only becomes a memory and then begins to fade, "In a matter of time it, would slip from my mind".. I'm not sure about the last bit, maybe the other person changing their mind about ending the relationship but the idea of it not being able to penetrate the numbness..this song is so beautiful and true |
