| @[Pterodacyl:13592] I agree completely with you, but I will add that to me this could be about the feeling of lost love or unrequested love, a certain bitterness in the middle of an immense tenderness. One comes to the realization that never the less love exist on his own, it does not diminish or stop to exist because is not reciprocated, it flows in new ways, towards yourself, towards life, towards people, a certain kind of consciousness about existence, hopeful and optimistic, but never the less an exhausting learning process. To me is an amazing song because it translates for me in that way, which could not necessarily the real meaning, but that's the good thing about good songs. | |

It could be about a relationship with no important meaning at the beginning, someone that she is starting to know but she just want companionship, obviously because she is feeling lonely and want to pretend she has something special with someone, but at the end this relationship start to mean something to her, she doesn´t know what to feel about it because she wasn´t so into it in the first place but now that she knows him better she feels this could be someone that she really cares but is too late the person who she was with is now leaving... Or she is at the beginning of a relationship and she is feeling the infatuation of it but she knows that she has not valid reasons to believe is more than that, she doesn´t know him well yet and the infatuation is going to end at some moment (as always does). But when the other person has to leave, she feels that the feeling of love is justified because she knows him enough to feel she could really care about him, but of course, he is leaving. (maybe this song should call "Leave" rather than "Leaves" - maybe they were thinking on the plural form of the word. English is not their mother language. Who knows. |

| haha for real "a guy wanting to have sex"? hahaha that sentence is easily related to get off of the relationship and red is anger.. I agree is just and plain about a relationship, but what I don´t get is the last part "Girls don´t go crazy when the men use you" I love the song but it bugs me a little.. It´s definitively about lose the faith in humanity- I would say- the people keeps loosing everything that once represented goodness (or what you feel is good) and a lot of souls are loosing his way, you see it everyday, and you cant fight against it even if you hold up and represent what is good, there is a moment that you just want to give up, you doubt or you are angry and maybe is the moment you think the solution is just end with everything -burning everything- he knows that he´s doubting and he´s been touching by everything that happens around, he is loosing his faith, that´s why he feels can´t be strong enough to be someone cornerstone, and maybe he sees himself falling and standing a lot of times in his life. I also thought in "What´s your rol" that fits well but its like to accept some kind of responsability or say that maybe he can do something, what it´s positive, but the song not seems to be positive. "watch her roll" can be like just an image, like a flashback of someone burning, and asking himself if it´s that right anyway. I don´t know, but the video seems to give another solution, the good souls are taken away from that hell, and maybe its what he really wants: to save the good souls for not to be affect by the world somehow. This song is great can be a lot of things. |

I agree with thehiredgun , but I also have my own version. I think that is a couple, about their relationship, about she. When he says back to basics, refers to go back to a simple life, because she is or was very complicated and he has been noticed they can´t go on together, he has tried to keep up but she has many ups and downs and he is in the middle, for better or worse. But they are perfect for each other, though no one understands and maybe their relationship is not the kind of conventional relationship, only he and she and nobody else can understand. He feels is ready to establish with her and can be a life commitment and if I ever going to calm down, stop looking whatever she is looking for (Recovering The Satellites) . About his mother, I guess that means family, she feels family is pulling her back and she wants to move far from them, seems like her family has fear for her, maybe she can lost in the path, and he feels the same too, in a certain way. Even so she gets reassures with him, in the bottom of his heart she can commit, they may be so alike, she knows it too, but she seems not to accept it, she is so convinced to get as high as she can be, not only be a good person (like his family), be somebody, but she's so innocent (she got heaven in her eyes). So the question is why not stay with him, may be forever, but this only lasts a moment, she leaves and he realizes she does not belong on him, not by now. |
