Nina Simone – Don't Smoke In Bed Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow, Blixen, I never thought of it like that. I just always thought that it was a failed marriage, and she knew it would never work. So she just left. But she still cared about him, so she told him to not smoke in bed because a lot of people fall asleep while having a smoke in bed, which can lead to a fire. There doesn't necessarily have to be infidelity involved, it's just that the marriage didn't work, so she's leaving him. But she still cares for him, which is why she gives him this last piece of advice. This sort of makes sense of the line "I'm packing you in like I said". To me, that says that she's talked to him about the unhappy marriage, and told him that she might leave, and if she did, she would pack him in(in the covers of the bed) before she leaves.

Beck – Lost Cause Lyrics 14 years ago
My interpretation of this song is that the girl he was with is crazy or chronically depressed or something like that. I think he's tried to help her for a very long time, but when someone won't help themselves there's really nothing you can do. Which is why I think he's decided to leave her; he knows he can never stop her drowning in insanity("I'm tired of fighting...fighting for a lost cause"). He knows that she's a lost cause and there's nothing he can do for her. "Wearing your wounds" is a line that is a bit obvious in my interpretation; she's a cutter and therefore has psysical wounds as well as emotional.
I think he really loves her, and we see that in the first line. She looks very pitiful and he finds it hard to leave her, but he needs to get out of the relationship.
I think the two first lines in the last verse: "There's a place where you are going you ain't ever been before" might refer to death. He thinks she won't be able to cope for much longer and predicts that she will commit suicide.
I don't know, that's just my unterpretation...

Paul McCartney – Junk Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow, I never realized the sign in the shop window said "Buy buy". Although it never really made sense, I always thought it said "Bye bye". Like, saying goodbye to the junk that wasn't needed anymore. For some reason I've always thought of this as a break-up song. I saw the junk in the yard as the person being dumped, and the shop as being the person doing the dumping. And the sign in the window says "Bye bye", and the junk just goes "Why?". I don't know, it's just the way I've always thought of it. But now that it's clear that the sign actually says "Buy buy", that really opens up for some interesting interpretation!
