i dont think that she is a prostitute, as much as someone who woke up and realized how pointless life is. No one has adressed the desert, nor the repeated going home...i think that the desert is his metaphor for life, expansive, empty, and desolate...and when she finally goes home (obviously death) she no longer has to worry about other people anymore (her children and family, who she hates for making her care about them) the mirror idea of her twin is where she looks back on her life, and finally sees the emptyness |
