B.o.B – Airplanes Part 2 Lyrics 14 years ago
Also the key to this song, is the repeating word "Pretend" And the outcome is pretending won't bring you any success, because wishing and hoping won't get you anything unless you get up and go for it.

They're saying ultimately you are in control of who you are and what you become, if you work hard you will get good things in life. They're saying don't just wish on stars and look for something to fall on your lap. Keep your head out of the clouds mostly and stay focused.

Ultimately you are who you are and no matter what you've come from it's sometimes what gives you the extra edge and not something that will stop you from reaching your goals if you work hard.

"And there was no one he could even aim when hes pissed with
And his alarm went off to wake him but he didnt make it to the rap Olympics
Left to his plane and he missed it
Hes gonna have a hard time explaining to Haley and Laney these food stamps and WIC shit
Cause he never risked shit he hoped and he wished it
But it didnt fall in his lap so he aint even hear it he pretends that"

If you don't try your hardest, then you have no one to blame but yourself. Imagine having to explain to two young daughters of yours why they're so poor and the reason being that he was lazy and didn't want to work his hardest. Well he doesn't have to explain that.. This is such a real song and I wish it was a song I heard in my younger years.

Very real song. This is to say you don't get to success by sitting on your bum. You can be successful but you won't be all you could. Also, you need to work your hardest you can and if you do that and stay focused you can overcome the worst of situations.

50 Cent – Ghetto Qu'ran (Forgive Me Pt. 1) Lyrics 14 years ago
I was the first to say it years ago as juanasmoke.

This song 50 snitches on all the big time crack dealers and just breaks down how it was in the 80's-early 90's growing up in Queens.

When you hear talk of the Southside(Southside Jamaica, Queens) you hear talk of the team(Supreme Team).
Supreme Team was a huge crack operation based in Queens and went throughout the city.

See niggas feared Prince(Supreme's cousin Gerald Miller) but respected Preme(Supreme Mcgriff). See Preme was the business man and Prince was the killer.

Whoever wrote these lyrics messed up the one line bad. "They roll with easy-widers and they ain't get blunted" is how it should be.

I used to idolize Cat (Lorenzo "Fat Cat" Nichols, associate and powder cocaine supplier to the "Supreme Team), hurt me in my heart to hear that nigga snitched on Pat. How he go out like that?

Even though 50 didn't mention that much it was enough to get charges against Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff and other members of the Supreme Team. But, 50 wasn't actually the first to "dry" snitch like this on a track though about Supreme Team though 50's was the one to get the attention of everyone.

On fellow Queens rapper Nas song "Memory Lane" on the Illmatic album he says
"I hung around the older crews while they sling smack to dingbats
They spoke of Fat Cat, that nigga's name made bell rings, black
Some fiends scream, about Supreme Team, a Jamaica Queens thing
Uptown was Alpo, son, heard he was kingpin, yo"

Alpo refers to Alberto Martinez who is a notorious drug kingpin with best friend Rich Porter and Azie Faison, which was the basis of the movie "Paid in Full"

That about sums it for you. Southside Jamaica

Jay-Z – A Star Is Born Lyrics 14 years ago
Amateurish? No. Amateurs don't give props to real stars all over. If an amateur mentioned all these guys names, it'd be like they were trying to make a name for themselves and it'd come out lame. Coming from Jay it's a legend giving props to all of those with real talent.

December 4th a star was born! But he also mentions T.I., Ludacris, Nelly, 50 cent, Snoop and guys who you wouldn't expect him to give credit to. He even gives credit to Eminem for being a white boy and killing Renegade with a much better verse than his. I thought he had something for Pac but I might be wrong.

"What up Jeezy? What it do? Ya'll remind me of us back in early '92."

The Notorious B.I.G. – Miss U Lyrics 14 years ago
One of my favorite BIG and rap songs.

Amazing tune. I like the mellow beat, the lyrics that tell true stories from the hood, and the chorus is really good also.

This ones just telling about all the people growing up in the hood that live a short life. It's just saying we miss u and will always remember that crazy shit. A lot of us can relate to this, your hood friends who were misguided but are still your friends.

Another one of Biggies realest songs.

The Notorious B.I.G. – I Love The Dough Lyrics 14 years ago
This is one of my favorite songs just like any song with Jay-Z and BIG on it. They're two of the best, if not the best, rappers to ever lived. My personal favorite is Jay-Z, but him and BIG really work together lovely.

The whole song is amazing.

One thing you should all realize:
"You cats is home, screamin the fight's on
I'm in the fifteen hundred seats, watchin Ty-son
Same night, same fight
But one of us cats ain't playin right, I let you tell it"

That's a reference to Tupac getting gunned down after the Tyson fight at MGM Grand in Vegas.
"Same night, same fight, but one of us cats ain't playin' right, I let you tell it"

This song is talking about how they're not about acting stupid and they're about "money over everything". So while they're taking flights around the world and flossing diamonds, all these other guys are living bummy. All about the money!!
