Muse – Assassin Lyrics 14 years ago
actually, it technically isn't impossible. Tiben Monks are known for practicing "multiphonic singing" in which they strike 2, sometimes even 3 seperate notes at one time. However, I REALLY doubt that's what Matt is doing. lol.

Owl City – Fireflies Lyrics 14 years ago
wow, fairweatherfriend. at first I was going to say "I think the song is about absolutely nothing, and regardless of that, I like it" but I really like your interpretation of it. Hopefully that IS what it means. Because otherwise, I'm pretty sure it is about absolutely nothing. lol. I have found that sometimes, when people are extremely creative AND deep, the things they say poetically or put into songs don't quite make sense to the average reader/listener. so I think your interpretation is very possible. good call!

Britney Spears – 3 Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm personally horified that people think this is a "great song" and because it has a "catchy beat" it's a great single. PLEASE. It's about a freaking threesome! The POPULAR opinion of this POP song speaks volumes for the current character of our country.

As for the reference to "Peter, Paul and Mary," who knows if it's a Biblical reference, a reference to a 60's folk group, or just popular names. However, the usage of those three names got all of us thinking, right? And now this song is stuck in your head, right? Exactly. Some writer somewhere played their cards right with that one.

Mae – Mistakes We Knew We Were Making Lyrics 14 years ago
I've been listening to this CD since I got it in, I believe, 2005, and it wasn't until today when I was just barely listening that I caught a MUCH deeper meaning to the song. I've listened to it several times since then, thinking about each line and it's relevance to the rest of the song, and even though at first I thought it was about the "unthinkable," as Mae puts it, I think the bottom line of the song is that they DID have premarital sex, they DID get pregnant, but they had a miscarriage. I think if it was saying they had gotten an abortion, the line about "driving in the rain to the hospital; quiet aches, intense" wouldn't make sense. When a woman is having a miscarriage, she begins to feel what seems like labor pains but usually are much worse and way before the time of her due expectancy.

A part of me wants to be hopeful and think the best of Mae, which would lead me to be inclined to assume that there's no way they would ever consider abortion. However, looking at it from a biased, logical stand point, I really do believe it's saying that she lost the baby due to the line I mentioned above. but that's just my thought!
