Bob Dylan – Gotta Serve Somebody Lyrics 14 years ago
"Christians are insane" ???

People who make broad statements about a gigantic group of individuals are ignorant.

Joan Baez – Diamonds and Rust Lyrics 14 years ago
I respect Bob Dylan and greatly enjoy some of his music, however, I think at times he was pretty caught up in his own cleverness to the point where his music becomes distracting to me. He is great with words, but like Joan said, vague and afraid of meaning. He probably did critique Joan's poetry - I can picture it. I bet he would not have been a picnic to date/wonderful to date all at the same time. This song sums that up beautifully. (This is going on the assumption that Joan's talking about Dylan :P ).

Carly Simon – You're So Vain Lyrics 14 years ago
Classic classic classic song. Carly had to have known a narcissist to have written this. Don't know who it's about, but for anyone who has ever been "close" with a narcissist, this song pretty much sums up the horrifying experience.

Joan Osborne – What If God Was One Of Us Lyrics 14 years ago
First of all, I never knew who sang this song, but when I looked it up on here I confused Joan Osbourne with Sharon Osbourne and nearly died. Thank goodness Ozzy Osbourne's wife is not the person singing this song. I feel like that would defy all laws of nature.

Anywho, what this song makes me think about is how we treat each other. Mother Theresa once said "I see God in every human being. When I wash the leper's wounds, I feel I am nursing the Lord Himself. Is it not a beautiful experience?"

For me, this song poses the question "How would you treat God if you met him and you didn't even know it?" Perhaps we meet God every day in each other. God gave us free will, but choose wisely the way in which you treat God's creations, mostly your fellow human beings.

Just my take..
