Arctic Monkeys – Fluorescent Adolescent Lyrics 14 years ago
I've read all the coments and lisntened at the song like 10 times again and again. I don't think her age is important I't doesn't matter. It's a general reflection about how relationships (with a parthner or a friend) get older and borring, I'm taking the video as help too.

"You used to get it in your fishnets
Now you only get it in your night dress
Discarded all the naughty nights for niceness"
(things getting borring)

"Landed in a very common crisis"
(it happends in all relations, they grow stale most of times)

Everything's in order in a black hole
(the emptyness you feel when this happens, everything it's realy quiet and there's not a big figth but it's not the same)

Nothing seems as pretty as the past though
That Bloody Mary's lacking in Tabasco
Remember when he used to be a rascal?
(how it was before)

Oh that boy's a slag
The best you ever had
The best you ever had
Is just a memory
(thet you get so tired of the person that you start to hate them and critizice them and everything they do)

and those dreams
Not as daft as they seem
Not as daft as they seem
My love when you dream them up
(but when you analize stuff objectively you realize that it's not that bad as you thougt it was)

And the rest i think there it's starts to talk more about a parthner. whit all the "Clinging to not getting sentimental Said she wasn't going but she went still" like she's contradicting her self or with "Likes her gentlemen to be gentle Was it a mecca dobber or a betting pencil?" because she likes them to be nice at her but then she's not with them (or him particular)

then comes the figth with "Falling about
You took a left off Last Laugh Lane
You just sounded it out
You're not coming back again" but it not a real fight because of the falling about. It's like a short but big fight

and with the title I think that's because this stuff about getting borred of each other and fithing but thet making up again happens on this age

Arctic Monkeys – Crying Lightning Lyrics 14 years ago
I just have this weird thought about a dealer.
"outside the cafe by the cracker factory
You were practicing a magic trick"
He's sealing and he pass by and sees him doing drugs or consuming them.

"And my thoughts got rude, as you talked and chewed
On the last of your pick and mix"
the narrator it's not happy about that, in fact he's angry.

"Said your mistaken if your thinking that I haven't been caught cold before"
The dealer is not scared or surprised abot being caught.

"As you bit into your strawberry lace"
He continues smoking or sealing.

"And then a flip in your attention in the form of a gobstopper
Is all you have left and it was going to waste."
Then the deales notice that there was like a kind of loeft over and i think that some kind he get's to sell it to this guy or maybe make him a delaer too (this is the one that goes best with the rst of the lyrics).

"Your past-times, consisted of the strange
And twisted and deranged
And I love that little game you had called
Crying lightning
And how you like to aggravate the ice-cream man on rainy afternoons"
Here it tells how the dealer puts pressure on the buyers to pay him or something like that and how this impress him

"The next time that I caught my own reflection
It was on it's way to meet you"
He's a dealer now but still depends on the older one.

"Thinking of excuses to postpone"
He owns him some money or something like that

"You never look like yourself from the side
But your profile could not hide
The fact you knew I was approaching your throne
With folded arms you occupy the bench like toothache
Saw them, puff your chest out like you never lost a war"
The older dealer feels threaten by this new guy. or maybe he thinks he owns him respect or something like that (thats why the narrator feels indignate). and he confront him or something.

And though I try so not to suffer the indignity of a reaction
There was no cracks to grasp or gaps to claw.
indignation because he feels like an abuse of power.

"And your past-times, consisted of the strange
And twisted and deranged
And I hate that little game you had called
Crying lightning
And how you like to aggravate the icky man on rainy afternoons "
He doesn't like the pressuring tecnics anymore.

"Uninviting
But not half as impossible as everyone assumes
You are crying lightning "
He thinks that the dealer is not that bad, people is just not confronting him.

FINALLY i think that criying lightning it's like a whim attack

Arctic Monkeys – Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend Lyrics 14 years ago
I think it's more about a girl that sugest him to not sleep with her because that would mean that there's no more temptation, and she won't be interested anymore.
