For me, this song is about seeing someone in a club and wanting to have sex with them (sort of obvious with "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick" haha) but not knowing where that will go to. Maybe a one night stand, a make out session, or even a 3 year relationship. Especially the "The story of us, it always starts the same, With a boy and a girl and a huh! and a game" Meaning her relationships usually start with sex. xoxo I love this song (and gaga) so much :) |

| To me, this song is about seeing a man in a club (or anywhere), and knowing and wanting to have a one night stand with him. But that could lead to a two year relationship, just a hook up, or anything. It's about how much soul there is when you are grinding someone you don't know in a club where all you can hear is music and it's hot (as in temperature) and everyone is just dancing and letting go of there problems for a night. | |

Also, when she says "some girls won't dance to the beat of the track", maybe that means some celebrities won't follow other's paths. For instance, Gaga's fashion. Everyone says it's "insane" and yet, she is wearing what is presented in fashion. So, she "looks good but her boyfriends says she's a mess" maybe she means that SHE (Gaga) looks good, feels good, but all the paparazzi and press are saying she is a mess. She once said she was married to her music so the media may be like a boyfriend to her) And "she won't walk away but she won't look back" Gaga said in an interview she missed the old days but yet she loves these days and she wants to find a place inbetween the two. "Now the girl is stressed" If you look at the "old" gaga, she was much more open, and free (maybe the free bitch part) but now, she is much more reserved to interviewers. And the "her boyfriend says she's a tramp" Again, the press is calling her things, and yet she "still does her dance" but "is (now) a vamp". "Marilyn Judy Sylvia Tellem’ how you feel girls" All these famous girls, and she is asking them to "tell em' how you feel" (now that you are gone). Almost as if "are you happy now?" sort of question to the paparazzi/media. "together we'll dance in the dark" They are in it together, they feel the pressure from the media. So they will dance in the dark, they have each other's backs. I honestly love Gaga and her music haha ideas about this song just keep flowing! |

I can hear "I love fucking girls" too. But also in the beginning I can hear something that sounds a bit like "matthew stop" and it sounds like a really quiet scream almost. Its about 14 seconds after the "hahaaa" part. Meanwhile, I absolutely love this song. I really think that this song is about fame, and how the press say "she's a mess" and how they really rip apart celebrities for their looks, private life, what they wear, etc., so all of the celebrities are "dancing in the dark" like Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Sylvia Plath, Princess Diana and JonBenet Ramsey. They pretend to feel great about themselves, or they pretend to feel terribly about themselves, but they are only their true selves when they are "dancing in the dark" where no one can see them. Dancing is also (to some people) very personal, so it's like they are living their personal life in the dark, away from all the other "dancers", who are also dancing in the dark. And when she says "baby does her dance in the dark" I can't help thinking of Dirty Dancing for some reason. It could also been seen as about a relationship but everyone else has pretty much wrote what other things I was thinking. I have so many interpretations of this song though, I really hope there is a music video too! |
