okay dude, i was really diggin what u were sayin until the comparisons. how can u compare alice in chains to soundgarden? completely different sound. yeah, they were both in the grunge scene. but they're all great in their own way. that's what makes grunge so great. nobody is better than the next. u can clearly state that they are ur favorite band, but dont be a dick and make comparisons. kurt cobain and chris cornell happen to be some of my heros. layne and jerry are at my top, but i could never stoop so low to compare them to bands who had juss as much impact on the way we see rock and roll today. and dont forget, alice in chains never set out to be better than nirvana or soundgarden. so i'll ask again, whats with the comparisons? |

i've really began to notice that no one really started to comment these songs until AFTER laynes death. not exactly a possitive thing. were u not listening to AiC before layne passed? yeah, i think alot of ppl were touched by the passing, and inspired ppl to listen. but what about the rest of the assholes that can't even name one song and juss wanna fit in the crowd? those of u that r fake, i'm calling u out. stay far away with that shit.

i agree, 100%. this song helped me through my addiction. i wanted to be what layne couldn't. i think it would please him to see someone succeed out of addiction by his advice. i idolize what good layne meant, and he'll be a part of me forever. he never wanted any of that bullshit for himself, or anyone in general. that's what the message in the song is. don't be like me. do as i advise, not what i do. |

yeah dude, but most of them kind of are. it's raising awareness of the hell u go through when someone u love wastes themselves away. jerry loved layne, and no matter how much layne dissed AiC, he was a big part of the whole. it's kind of a tribute i guess u could say. the album is named after the song that clearly speaks about layne. black gives way to blue. but there's a few about how they've moved on. listen to acid bubble. it's about the legacy of AiC, and how ppl have criticized william duvall. they say he tries to hard to sound like layne, but really he's juss his own person and wants to rock on without the criticism. i say leave him alone, let him rock with jerry, and long live AiC!!!!! layne, ur missed on this end brother |
