@Icipher: you said it best how they feel "disdain for the world." Actually you can tell from a lot of their songs they feel very strong contempt for this world and how it works (socially/philosophically?). I actually want to go out on a limb and suggest that they know there is some deeper spiritual meaning to be pursued, but they don't know it and hollywood and the rest of the world REALLY don't know it, but at the same time they want to know more of it. Another band that does this is Senses Fail (albeit, I'm not a huge fan of that genre). |

Yah dude I can't believe no else has gotten it. It's obviously politics, especially with the phrase "The left isn't better, its just more of the same Condemning all these people for what they believe." Sounds like Shadows has issues with the right wing (republicans) and as a result turned to the left but is overcome with their excessive judgement of others. More people should strive for this middle ground sort of politics and stay away from labels. It's better to approach politics issue by issue "I make decisions one at a time and no I never say I'm always right" |
