to me this song sounds like it's describing a relationship and talking about how it has its ups and downs but overall it means everything to that person and he knows that the problem they are currently facing, they can make it through together and can solve it. |

this is missing that 'god only knows what i'd be without you' or whatever he says part. this song is beauiful though and i think it's about finding that one person you needed all along to help you be better person and to be able to love them like they deserved to be loved is your only goal when with them . you've made a few mistakes with them, and in your past, and you've hurt them but you're trying to make things right. I'm not very sure but this song hits home with me. |

i think it means this girl, ex friend, ex girlfriend calls him randomly, prolly had a sour end to their relationship so they just stopped talking, anyway she comes over, totally different person but not in a bad way...... but he doesn't know what he can do to help her problem. like he's just the ex boyfriend, what is she expecting from him? to make everything better? after all these years of not speaking? yeah...no. that's what i got out of it though. love it. |

but still it's not enough because of the previous pain he's put on her.
