Okay so I'm definitely not sure if what I hear is what he actually says but I thiiiiink: "Don't you ask me, and don't you lose" should actually be "Don't you ask me, don't you utter a word" And: "So paint your face up something elegant, and this town maybe a darker shade of red" should be "So paint your face up something elegant, and this time maybe a darker shade of red" Like I said, I'm not sure but it's just a suggestion. |

| I don't think you've quite grasped the concept of an analogy. I'm not certain myself what the lyrics are about but the majority of these lines are just symbolic references to things that aren't relative to the actual words. I'm not sure if these lyrics are official or not. The only thing I noticed that I thought was different that what I hear is "I sit and entertain the bizarro ghosts of my soul" I hear "I sit and entertain the bizarre guests of my soul Maybe I'm wrong, that's just what I hear. |

| I think the majority of their songs are ambiguous and have multiple meanings and references. I think they could be referring to their love for each other on a sexual level and an emotional level. Maybe one of the sisters was initially more hesitant to accept her love for the other because of some strong religious conviction, but again, this is purely my own interpretation of what I've read about them, the interviews I've seen and the way I hear the lyrics in my own head. | |
