| I whole-heartedly believe this is a suicide note. I have attempted suicide & this is what I have tried to say. This song brings me to tears every time I hear it & no matter the mood I'm in when I listen to it; however, a perfect song will affect people on different levels & for different reasons so to each his own. Some beliefs & religions agree that if you commit suicide you're destined for hell so I think that is what the Mephistopheles reference means...among other references. This song is beautiful in both it's simplicity & sadness. While it reminds me of so much sorrow, it also encourages me to seek out that level of love deserving of such agony & remorse. | |
