The sunrise is the woman who becomes his savior - saves him from himself/loneliness/cold. The sun shares her warmth/love through sun rays and he falls in love. Her love helps him to forget about his dismal yesterdays and shows him a new brighter, warmer, more loving and less lonely future. Let's hope this time around that the sunrise is not followed by a sunset. It seems at night the lizard starts to believe that the sun will not rise again. Surely he's been through this cycle before? Perhaps the dark/cold makes him forget the light/warmth, then during the day the light/warmth helps him forget the dark/cold. He is lonely and longing for love, perhaps love is what makes him realize how lonely he's been in life. Now that he has found her, he doesn't want to go back to living his life alone, he wants to share it with her forever. I think this story is talking about loneliness, finding love, and the struggle to keep it. It teaches hope for better days even in the darkest hours just before daylight, and appreciation of the better days in case darkness comes again. |
