This song is about a guy who dropped his girlfriend off at Planned Parenthood and went across the street for a drink while she's having the abortion. He can't help but to second guess his choice, but she's not even there to talk about it with him (boyfriends aren't allowed into the operating room). >Where do we go from here? >The words are coming out all weird >Where are you now? >When I need you >And who are my real friends >Have they all got the bends? >Am I really sinking >This low? "The bends" here is an analogy for morning sickness / missing your period. He's depressed that his friends have decided to have children, but he won't, and he thinks sinking to having an abortion is a new low. >We're not having a little friend, no no no We're not having the baby. :( >And I wish it was the sixties, I wish I could be happy Back in the 1960s, abortion was still illegal in much of the Western world. >I want to live, breed >II want to be part of the human race, race, race?
