Normally I would agree with yall. But in this case I have to say that I's MGMT there's always a deep meaning and it usaly has something to do with having a peter pan complex. These are some of the rare people who realize that most kids form 18 to 30 are Lost Boys now a days. On top of that, this is one of the few bands that they're music video's tend to be a visual form of the song in its most primitive form. The video also segests that he's singing about that point in life where you realize life sucks. That you can't go back to the childhood you fought so hard to leave in the past. |

Well seeing how Maynard talks about god positively in most of tool and APC albums. I'd say just assuming, like in most of his songs, is a mistake. You have to listen a little deeper, to get the real meaning.\ Most of Tool is sang for a group perspecitve, whist most of APC is personal, fist person. This song is the APC verson of Eulogy. Maynard is really hard of Preachers, and some of his lyircs seem to damn the catholic church. Also, my ex had a interesting theory. Before me she was in bad relationship, where in her ex was horrably mentally controlling. She posed that he was her "Christ" in this song. When she whould get fed up, he would make her feel gulity for trying to leave, causing the cycle to begin anew. See I think, like most Christan alt and rock... The intent isn't what the song means... It is what it means to you.. I mean that FFV has meaning for the song. But it can mean anything. A son, a wife/husband, a Girlfriend/Boyfriend, or even god. The music is ment to be inspirational, specialty FFV.. And normally when a band member speaks of a songs meaning, there be a good chance that it is a lie.
