Twenty One Pilots – Car Radio Lyrics | 11 years ago |
i like this song because its easy for me to relate - "I ponder of something great My lungs will fill and then deflate They fill with fire Exhale desire I know it's dire My time today" basically explains how i feel, i feel like i have limited time on this planet which equates to a finite time inwhich i have to conquer all of what i want to accomplsh with my life. "i ponder of something great" i have all these great ideas and the ambition to conquer them, but i have to keep in mind that time waits for no man, no matter how great he. or his ideas are "I have these thoughts So often I ought To replace that slot With what I once bought 'Cause somebody stole My car radio And now I just sit in silence" basically explains how he suffers from "racing thoughts", he can't turn his brain off because he's constantly thinking about anything and everything in every scenario possible. he can escape this feeling by sleeping, but when he's not sleeping the only way to preoccupy his mind is with music. with no radio he has no way to block out his thoughts "Sometimes quiet is violent I find it hard to hide it My pride is no longer inside It's on my sleeve My skin will scream Reminding me of Who I killed inside my dream I hate this car that I'm driving There's no hiding for me I'm forced to deal with what I feel There is no distraction to mask what is real I could pull the steering wheel" now he hints that even though some of his thoughts are pleasant and hopeful, he also has negative feelings in the same, quiet, thoughtful manner. this verse is further explaining the point that without music, he is forced to deal with his thoughts. serving as a constant reminder for everything. he feels so lost and helpless that he even goes as far as saying "i could pull the steering wheel" hinting that he could run himself off the road (suicide) and end this constant feeling of not being able to escape the monsters in your head "I ponder of something terrifying 'Cause this time there's no sound to hide behind I find over the course of our human existence One thing consists of consistence And it's that we're all battling fear Oh dear, I don't know if we know why we're here Oh my, Too deep Please stop thinking I liked it better when my car had sound" further explaining the negative side of his constantly racing thoughts i think this song is basically about how when someone stole his car radio, his thoughts drove him to have suicidal ideation, because he has an overactive imagination |

its obvious that overall this song is about not having your radio anymore, but as with most works of art there is a lot more than meets the eye.... i really like the fact that this band is getting popular, back in early 2000's really obscure stuff like this was still considered "weird" so it just stayed underground. songs directly relating suicidal thoughts weren't "cool" but now it seems that weird and obscure stuff is really taking the stage in current entertainment. makes me hopeful for the future of music, as i was really disappointed up until recently, with the direction of music i wonder if the line "fill with fire, exhale desire" is a drug reference? as most drugs are smoked |
Twenty One Pilots – Guns For Hands Lyrics | 11 years ago |
i think the song could also have self mutilation references and an overall anti suicide theme i think "fused at the wrist" is referring to how a lot of self mutilators will cut their wrists, and it exposes the flesh underneath. all of these people being "connected" through the bare flesh on their wrists. i know it sounds weird but it kinda makes sense to me lol |
The Arrogant Sons of Bitches – Rocketrocketrocketship Lyrics | 11 years ago |
this song is about depression and seeing the band as an escape from it (rocketships move upwards, where depression is related to being down). "united we can change our whole destiny" also constant references to depression such as not being enthused by the things he once loved and feeling like he'd rather be dead which are classic signs of depression we're breaking down while breaking in |
All Time Low – Paint You Wings Lyrics | 11 years ago |
i think this song is about wanting a girl(paint a picture of things i want the most) who they both think is out of his league(anything but a remedy to your pressing needs). explaining why she's referred to as princess but she keeps him around for her own personal reasons. however her personal reasons for keeping him around weigh down on him negatively (but theres a monster standing where you should be) so he wants to "paint her wings and set her free" from his idea of things that he wants in his life. despite how much he wants her, she's doing nothing but harm for him |

John Mayer – Bigger Than My Body Lyrics | 11 years ago |
i agree in that this song is about saying fuck you to everyone who doubted him, because he's eventually gonna grow away from the things holding him back and become something more than the average individual. like an introduction to "no such thing" |
Dave Melillo – Sam's Song Lyrics | 11 years ago |
obviously he isn't calling the dogs cell phone, song lyrics are often metaphoric if you didn't notice....oh wait you said you're a girl nevermind... |
Dave Melillo – Sam's Song Lyrics | 11 years ago |
so ironic that i've always sang this song thinking it was about a girl. then tonight i actually gave the title of the song some thought and coincidentally my german sheperds's name is sami (named by my dad about 7 years ago, i'm pretty sure it's not shortened lol) then i started paying attention to the lyrics, and i'm like wait... there's no way this song has been about his dog the whole time, sure enough i pop songmeanings sams song on google and someone quoted dave as to saying it was indeed about his dog when you live on your own it gets lonely and you feel isolated, i've never had to go without my two dogs but if i did i'd probably be putting my mental health at risk. having someone waiting at the door when you come home by yourself is a nice feeling even if its not a girlfriend |
All Time Low – Heroes Lyrics | 12 years ago |
only good song on the album. being a songwriter i can tell this song serves as a reminder/savoir for himself. they made it catchy pop punk esque because he wanted the crowd to sing it back to him so every night he performs this song it encourages him to do what he's talking about in the song and no longer be the sell out he's become. i think the next album from this band is going to blow this one out of the water and be like more like the earlier albums (i could be wrong).i think how the first two chorus' is for the fans to sing to him, and the last chorus being directly about him somewhat exists to prove that the song is in fact about himself. the first verse is about not wanting to be forgotten and by being unoriginal he's becoming easily forgotten, which he wants to stray away from i think most of you are on the right track about the meaning of him wanting to change the music scene but failing to do so despite how bad he wanted to do it (in the final hour i'll be a confident coward) mark my words the next abum will be amazing and nothing like this -sincerely mr hopeful |

maybe a girl |
A Day to Remember – All I Want Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think this song is pretty self explanatory. His music is how he copes. Putting words on paper is his therapy. "Still got something left to prove. It tends to keep things moving. While everyone around me says my last days are looming overhead But just what the hell do they think they know? I keep my head above the water while they drown in the undertow" I think that verse is about all the other bands on the warped tour scene who are all dying because their 15 seconds of fame is over, and they all say that ADTR had their 15 seconds of fame with the Homesick album, but they keep going. They keep being more and more successful. They still have something to prove. I'M CODY TRAVISS BITCHHHHHHH |
A Day to Remember – 2nd Sucks Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think this song might be about a ex band member or a member from another band. Who always tries to compete with Jeremy, but always seems to come in second. It's someone who is hateful and jealous of what he's doing and the success he has the way he's doing it. |
A Day to Remember – All I Want Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I agree, first listen to this album I thought this was by far the worst release of ADTR. All the solo vocal with ryhtmn guitar in the back intros and A/B A/B rhyme schemes really make it seem like it's trying to be radio-friendly. Nonetheless, one of my favorite albums right now, just took a while to grow on me. |
A Day to Remember – This Is the House That Doubt Built Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"Don't get me started on what it means to be alive you're lying to yourself if you sound and act surprised could you stand become the source of what you are the wolves in sheep's clothing will only lead so far so find your way and you'll go cause in the end we all end up alone so just wait you'll know" I think that's about people who act content with their lives and their friends, but the bottom line is that if they put any thought into it, they really aren't happy, they just stay so busy (getting fucked up everynight could be a good example) that they don't realize how shitty their lives are. Also that their friends wouldn't really be there in the end if it came down to it "in the end we all end up alone so just wait you'll know". "I rely on myself just making sure that was clear I'm not in need of your crutches I face all my face fears and I want what I knew I could have life is not a monster make the best of what you have" I think that's about people who are afraid of living their own lives and supporting themselves, thinking that it's easier to rely on other people than to just do things themselves. Or crutches might refer to people who can't cope with reality, so they use drugs and alcohol to cope. "Life is not a monster, make the best of what you have" could refer to how people think life is shitty so they rely on drugs and alcohol. So ultimately, I think my interpretation of this song would be that it's about relying on things other than yourself, whether you're relying on other people, drugs, alcohol or any other thing that helps you cheat life. The Wonder Years – I Was Scared and I'm Sorry Lyrics | 13 years ago |
makes more sense now, I just didn't understand why he would get so upset about that in particular |
The Wonder Years – I Was Scared and I'm Sorry Lyrics | 13 years ago |
lol no need to get on the defensive, just my opinion on your opinion but why would he be so upset about the album leaking? |
The Wonder Years – I Was Scared and I'm Sorry Lyrics | 13 years ago |
ehh I kind of don't think it has anything to do with 'the upsides' being leaked |
Set Your Goals – Do You Still Hate Me? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
this fool ruined my favorite set your goals cover!!! |
Set Your Goals – Like You to Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
what i got from this song had to do with jordan having somewhat of a relationship with someone back in their bay area hometown. "waiting anxious in return, getting pushed away this hurts" i think whoever the other side of this song is trying to save themselves the constant grief of having thier loved one constantly leave for tour. but towards the end of the song i think the times change and the other side (the person that stays in the bay area) starts making the best of the situation and decides they are worth it. and they are willing to wait for whoever is in set your goals to go on tour and come back. even if they are afraid of how much it hurts everytime they're gone (don't be afraid) pretty far-fetched, and i read the actually meaning from the band. but this is just what i got out of the song |
Set Your Goals – Summer Jam Lyrics | 14 years ago |
and the bridge is all lyrics from other bands the collaged together (said so on the album booklet i do believe) for example - "we're holding on" is the first line of fireworks most popular song "from lazy losers..." and "my life, my pride" is a warriors song |
Set Your Goals – Summer Jam Lyrics | 14 years ago |
CIS - crime in stereo no idea what EU is? but new found stands for new found glory and GB stands for gorilla biscuits (their europe tour) if i remember correctly, baloni is the last name of someone in Fireworks and justin k is a tour friend of SYG or fireworks |
