Nena – 99 Red Balloons Lyrics 12 years ago
Fahrenkrog-Petersen and Karges wrote BOTH versions and both versions are about the Cold War. As has already been explained, songs translated from one language into another pretty much NEVER get a LITERAL translation because the metre and rhymes don't work. Don't start talking out of your ass about the "censors".

Nena – Nur Geträumt Lyrics 12 years ago
Lyrics for the English version of this song are listed here as 'Just a Dream'.

The lyrics above are a better translation of the German version, but Nena also did an English version of the song for America which meant changing some things to fit the metre and rhyme, etc.

Blondie – Heart of Glass Lyrics 13 years ago
no, the lyric is "and it was a gas" - like you said "gas" means "intoxicating" in this context.

and in the final verse the lyric is "soon turned out to be a pain in the ass" - the first two times she says "heart of glass", and there was a "radio" version that used the "heart of glass" verse again because "ass" was too "edgy" for radio stations to play back in the 70s, but this is the official version listed here.

Blondie – Dreaming Lyrics 13 years ago
i think the song sounds like basically a 'love letter' to a guy she met who listened and and validated her feelings that dreams have tangible power and meaning.. the song makes it pretty clear that she HAS met the guy since it starts off with her meeting him in a restaurant, so to me it sounds like she hung out with him and liked him - they tentatively arranged to meet again 'at the turnstile' (most commonly seen in bus/subway stations in big cities) - and she simply didn't (or couldn't) show up to meet with him again.. the lyrics on this page aren't exactly right, but they're close enough that the gist of the song gets across..

Frankie Vinci – Angela's Theme (You're Just What I've Been Looking For) Lyrics 13 years ago
From the soundtrack for the movie "Sleepaway Camp"

The complete title for the song is: "Angela's Theme" ("You're Just What I've Been Looking For"), but there's a limit on the number of characters we can use for song titles on here - so yeah.. I'm not the type of person to ruin movies for people by posting spoilers, but the meaning is pretty self-explanatory if you've seen the film..

Blondie – Pretty Baby Lyrics 14 years ago
I heard Debbie Harry wrote this song for Brooke Shields after seeing the film "Pretty Baby", but it was years ago when I heard this and I can't find any information on it.. The timeline of the release of the film and the "Parallel Lines" album does make it seem plausible, as well as the obvious match of titles of the film and song, but can anyone confirm that this song was written for child-star Brooke Shields or know anymore about the story behind it?
