Everytime I think of and listen to this album, it amazes me. This band spent so much time and effort to put this together, especially with the music videos and the other videos dealing with the "Better Living corporation" . They are referring to how people are making drugs and selling them for you to "live better". However MCR has realized that it can kill people and who they are naturally. These drugs they give you will supposively take away all of your bad emotions and make you happy and live better. But it actually just takes away your chance of living life to the fullest. This song refers to all of this, and the speaker is relying on his significant other, or close friend, to help him get through all of the rough patches. In this album, the Killjoys are out to take down the exterminator from BL/nd. He's wondering if he left this place that he's stuck in, if people will remember him for realizing the dangers of where he is. And maybe he's hoping they can follow him for what he knows is the right thing to do, no matter how hard it is. I think he's saying that after he leaves, he continues to think of the horrible things he has seen and what he has run away from. I think that he knows that he doesn't belong where he is, with everyone changing along with television, telling then how they can change to be better. They are missing out on the world of emotions. I'll be completely honest here, I don't remember everything I've typed xD But basically, it's not just all about 9/11. Although that is a good observation. :) |

I don't think this song is literally about a killer. What I see from these lyrics is like a boy or girl that lives with their father or something. It sounds like the parent is never really there for the child, and everything the parent does scares the child. The kid constantly thinks of running away, but he feels trapped |

I used to think that it said "Just to ask all the question" which confused me. Now that I see that it says "Ask God the question", it's a new perspective. He's confused about his relationship, which he thought was perfect. She is making it difficult for him to understand her feelings. Everyone else around him doesn't seem to know what's going on, or how to deal with anything anymore. He's turned to God to talk to him about these things. God is the only ..thing that agrees with him about how he feels "With a tear in his voice he said son that's the question does this deafening silence mean nothing to no one but me" Maybe there's a breakup in there. To begin with, this is a fantastic song, I really love it ! He could be talking about how his life is for being in a band. He has to tour all the time. He girlfriend or wife lives and works at home while he is away. When the time stretches and gets longer, it's harder for him to be without her. He has a great sense of adventure as it says in the song, so he relies on that to keep him going until he gets back with the one he loves. He's talking about all of the beautiful things he's seen as he travels, but the most beautiful thing in his eyes is his wife/girlfriend that he can't wait to see and be with again. I think he's telling her this while they are making love again at last. "Capture your eyes as I explore your thighs and try to explain what's going on inside my head" and "Perfect and smooth as my hand navigating your chest". He says when he get's home, he's up to do anything with her. Whatever she brings up, he will do it with her. He won't feel like he's home until he's back in his city. It's a wonderful song, truly. I wish more people knew about it. This is the second comment and I'm sure it's been around for a long time.. |

This is an amazing song. And video was done so well too. It makes me want to cry almost every time I hear it. Some people would classify this situation as "emo", but obviously she's going through the hardest time in her life. I have a feeling from "Mom and dad have no right, she screams" that her parents took out someone very special in her life. Saying that she can't be with that person anymore. It breaks her heart and she has no idea what to do. She cuts herself so that she doesn't have to feel the pain of life. She hides from it by giving herself physical pain. At the end, she realizes that she is relieved that she even had that person in her life. They changed her, and she couldn't be herself without him/her. |

I think the general idea, at least for the chorus. Is to just make the best of life. Get your camera and explore the world. Before you crash, while you're happy, just do anything you can to keep going until you can't anymore. He thinks about a lost day that he had spent with her that he used to love. Now his mind puts in a beautiful tragedy, the victim being her. She now looks at him with disgust, and he passionately wants her to feel what he's feeling. He is envious that she is in the greatest part of her life right now. I couldn't really figure out a meaning for this song, it was hard to pick out. When I saw them in concert, Pete said his meaning, and that was like five months ago. I still don't understand how that is intended. He said that it's about when some stranger walks into the room and something about them, you are obsessed. I adore this song. The whole band of course, my favorite band until the end of time. This song was beautifully written, and obviously has a lot of metaphors. Talking about the loss of someone he loves, while relating it to the fall of Rome, which I will have to learn more about. They are amazing writters, exactly the way I got into writting. They've inspired me so far, it's unbelievable! And, this is Shawn Milke's (this lead singer) favorite song out of all of them :) |

This song is about a guy who is with a girl that has lost her feelings for him. She thought she liked hima at first, but then realized she doesn't as much as she thought she did. The boy is going to let her go, since he knows he won't be able to win her back. This kind of reminds me of when I was at my friend's house and he would barely even look at me when I was there, and it was really upsetting and confusing me.. |
