every1 is entitled to their own interpritation, thats the whole fun of art... but my interpritation, as a poet..this is definatly about Sex. im absolutely infatuated with this song, get ready for a long expliation of my interpritation of this Art. While listening to this song, im usually driving, and on my way home i was thinking to myself, "what if he's not talking about a girl, what its more of a thing, or a feeling." then i got goose bumps..Destiny, Fate...if u replace to all the "you"s, "she"s and "her"s with the word "Destiny" or "Choice"..so here is my inturpretation; right from the first line "about as subtle as an earthquake i know, my mistakes were made for you" its basically saying everything happens for a reason-even your mistakes. here is my thoughts on this song, or at least, my interpritation. ok so our guy, the guy who is singing, he has a GirlFriend, and there is another guy(i'll refurr to him as X) so X is trying to steal away the Girlfriend of our guy. and my interpritation of "want her, have her, 2years have gone now but i cant relaite to the games that u play" hes basically saying "if u want to try to get my girl, go ahead, TRY, ive been with her for 2years and u aint getting nowhere with her, and im not gonna play these little games with u so i can keep the girl that i already have and it would be a waste of time on my part" where he says "as desire passes thru then youll open to the truth i hope u understand and your love is standing next to me" MY INTERPRITATION- "when you're done liking my girl, THATS when you will be able to see clearly that she is with me and she is in love with me and she isnt going to leave me for you" "the one you fell for, makes it too juvinile, and youll laugh at yourself again and again, and we'll drink to the thought that she'll remember you, maybe tomorrow" MY INTERPRITATION= "the fact that you're 'in love' with my girl-that u bearly know, is kiddish and childish, you'll look back on this and laugh one day on how silly this situation really is...and shes gonna forget u so u shud forget her" well thats my inturpentation of this complex song. idk...ex boyfriend...or new boy friend...perhaps hes no longer with her and shes with sum1 new. heres my arguement the first verse; he basically says "when im with you the world is happy ..but now im not with u everything pisses me off"..recheck and compare...second verse translation; "now youre crying to some1 else about your problems and not me and i cant notice your tears cuz u dont talk about it to me..the expression youre giving kills me inside cuz i cant help u anymore" and when he says "im a Ghost in the wrong coat" i think it means "im not the same without u and im dead inside"-pretty emo right? 3rd verse translation; the handsome maverick is the new guy, and our guy is trying to get her attention, but she still goes back to the maverick... last verse, he doesnt want to hear how well the girls new relationship is going cuz he can already tell, and even thou the maverick isnt doing anything to our guy directly, he is killing him...deepp shit..respect man... one love, -J.
