Patrick Wolf – The Bluebell Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Down in the park In the last of the light Among the stray dogs and families I smell the bonfires, and watch the bombs Fireworks burst above the trees Into pillows of white cloud, and Another year has gone Now it is the fifth of November I lock the doors, and Swallow the key And draw the curtains, closed forever Forever |
Patrick Wolf – Thickets Lyrics | 13 years ago |
("Just a little further up the hill, boy. You'll be home soon enough.") All along the river Pedaling fast as I could Watch as the wasteland flowers Old cars and rubbish flourish With blackberries and Red berries Sweet blackberries Tainted red berries Berries Berries Went looking for my tower Off all the rails and the roads In need of resurrection As my desires and powers Grow in thickets Tall all round me Tall all around me Tall around me Around Around Around Have I been traveling so long That I've forgot how to stop? Why are my brakes all broken? Wheels spinning out of control And in the mirror Pale and deathly have become Look, what have I become Mother, what have I become Become Become Become now And all my wastelands flower And all my thickets grow And all my wastelands flower And all my thickets grow Taller and taller still Taller and taller Taller and taller All around All around me What have I become Pale and deathly have become What have I become Become Become Become now ("Pale and deathly As all the wasteland flowers And all the thickets grow") Become Become Become now ("Pale and deathly As all your wasteland flowers And all the thickets grow") |
OneRepublic – Too Easy Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Autumn wind turns again And days of warmth start to fade And all that's here is still the same And memories fall like rain The only world I know Steady as you go It's too easy, it's too easy for you It's too easy, it's too easy for you Sinking in the sands of time Immeasurable but I'll be fine I'll burn a fire , I'll buy the air Still heavens on my side Hell is here tonight No more alibis It's too easy, it's too easy for you It's too easy, it's too easy for you Autumn wind turns again And days are warm, start to fade |
Florence + the Machine – Cosmic Love Lyrics | 13 years ago |
@ MrFiish while I do agree to some extent, to my mind the twilight doesn't refer to being emotionless, but rather to being "neither here nor there" - on the edge of love and disdain, between happiness and despair. It's about being overwhelmed with emotions, both positive and negative, always in this chaos (twilight) caused by his very existence ("in the shadow of your heart") and the effect he has on her, whether he is with her or away from her. |

I am surprised that you are surprised about this, as it is the identical style of some of the songs from Muse's Resistance. |
30 Seconds to Mars – 100 Suns Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I think it's actually "not in Satan, not in God" Candykaos probably got the meaning right, but I can't help but think of love when I hear this song. Like, when you're with the one you love, the world doesn't matter and all things, both good and bad, just fade away. The song also brings this feeling of relief, as if something negative has gone away, like finally reuniting with your love, or the ending of a war, which fits nicely with the album's theme. Anyway, that's just how I see it. Very simple and yet so very emotional. |
30 Seconds to Mars – Search and Destroy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Bosna? Ozbiljno? What are the odds? Oh, sorry, did you even understand me? Nevermind, the one person whose profile I decide to look at ends up being from around me. I like your interpretations of these songs. Whatever, anyway, such a great album and a great song, although my favorite one is "This Is War". If I hadn't heard it on Dragon Age, I wouldn't even notice this amazing album. |
Keane – Bedshaped Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yaoi said exactly what I was thinking. I also have another interpretation: it could be about two lovers who have argued and one has moved on (in this case, it would be the girl), while the other one hasn't but he would still like to believe they will see each other again, even if it's only when they die. The reversed sounds might indicate that he wants the past back or are just there to give an "otherworldy", or dreamy atmosphere to the song. Perhaps he's afraid of the truth: that he'll never see her and that she'll never care about him again. This is why he's thinking of the possibility that they'll reunite in another world and everything'll be as innocent as it was at the beginning. This does not mean that he's a spiritual person (I know I'm not and still, I like to think "what if"). It could also be that he knows the girl more than she thinks he does. Maybe deep inside, even she is doubtful that she doesn't care anymore, but she still discards him with the words "What do you know?". And yet, he knows it can't end there because something so strong still lingers after a long time and one day, even if not right now, she'll remember him and she might want to go back. He's trying to make her see he's more insightful than she thinks him to be ("I know you think I'm holding you down And I've fallen by the wayside now And I don't understand the same things as you But I do", "I know") There's some anger in this song, he obviously hasn't forgiven her that she left him but is still hopeful because he still loves her. |
