Enya – Fallen Embers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's about Lucifer, the bright and Morning Star, fairest son of God, the dream keeper and highest archangel in Heaven. The fallen angel who manipulatively took a third of the angels in Heaven with him when he was cast out in a bolt of lightning for his pride, his vanity. "How far we all have fallen." It's a personna of Lucifer's ode to his former Master, the only One he truly ever loved -- Yahweh. Read the lyrics very closely, then read Isaiah 14:12-23 to gain a closer understanding of the lyrics' true meaning. |
Living Colour – Cult of Personality Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Oh well. "I sell the things you need to be," or "I'm all the things you need to be": It's true, either way. It's all about "smiles and cries": One guy claims he's "it"; the other's just selling "it." You know you're gonna be fucked either way, when it all comes down. |
David Bowie – China Girl Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's obviously about heroin. Both Iggy and David (but especially Iggy) were addicts, at one point. The comment about swastikas, to me, seems to me maybe to be less a comment about any form of Imperialism than maybe simply a reference to the Deutsche National Socialiste Party's own leader's struggles with opiate addiction -- among a variety of other drugs, most notably methamphetamine -- administered to him by the equally infamous Dr. Theodor Morell. |
