LCD Soundsystem – Home Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think this song is about LCD's breakup/retirement. In the music video the robot is the band. They know that they should move on (for whatever reason,) but they know they'll regret it. (afraid of what you need.) Staying together won't solve anything because even though it's fun partying and being a band and having everyone fawning over you, inevitably the whole experience just becomes dirty and unattractive. they feel like they have a connection with their audience, but no one can actually have a relationship with a crowd of people. (Yeah no one ever knows what you're talking about, so i guess you're already there. No one opens up when you scream and shout) It's time to move on. It is also fitting that this is the last track of the last album. |
Dark Dark Dark – Celebrate Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Tell me what you celebrate It isn't hard to do Do you love me? Do you love that paint? Exposing the brick They're crumbling a bit Do you love the bees Fly over our heads Race into the woods Make honey so sweet Do you love me Do you love the breeze When you stand on the deck Of a boat on the sea Or when it comes through An open window Of a high ceiling room On the eleventh floor Do you love stories Of that stream you found You followed the path Ferns under your feet The trees they parted And you stumbled upon The coolest stream Your skin has known And tell me what you celebrate It isn't hard to do Do you love me A walk on the street Oh lavender The scent fills the air Oh remember The hand sewn quilt We laid on it there We laid on it there Send "Celebrate" Ringtone to your Cell |
Death Cab for Cutie – Your New Twin Sized Bed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I always viewed the overall upbeat music on this album to be tragically optimistic. like the narrator(s) have to hope that better times lie ahead, because otherwise what's the point? but that's probably just me injecting my own opinion into the music... :/ |
Death Cab for Cutie – Your New Twin Sized Bed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I always thought that the line "and I hope you have more luck with this than me" was part of the note left on the bed, a disclaimer that the bed is unlucky, |
Radiohead – Like Spinning Plates Lyrics | 14 years ago |
but not nearly as cool. the first verse in the album version was sung backwards and all those humming bee sounds are thom singing I Will played backwards |
Radiohead – Videotape Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i always thought that his "videotape" was just thoughts/memories playing over in his head, which is really depressing for me because that means that he never really says goodbye, just in his head. |
Radiohead – The National Anthem Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Yeah it was actually composed to sound like a horrible traffic jam. |
