I have been to see John Butler live and he states its about his "Princess and queen" those being his daugther and wife. However he now also dedicates this song to his son. Anyone oout there PLEASE the next chance you have go and see him live, i cried!! Hes amazing live the stmosphere is overwhelming! He is a one of a kind man, musician. Its as though when he talks to the audience, that you know him personally as a friend. Hes what the human race should be like. Also i was about 4 meters away from him so it was all very overwhelming! x |

Personally, this song to me is like what rela119, this song is about people worrying too much about things that they want or things they dont/cant have, when trully they have all they need in life, family and actually being alive in the first place. People always want things that arent really needed, and they (with their prospective machines) they look too deeply at something that they want and everything else around them becomes a blur, all they need to do is "sit back and relax". Once they do this, they will see that the grass is the same colour for everyone, it has its beautiful green points and its brown points. People need to actually really take a good look around them and see what they have been blessed with. I'm not religious in any way shape or form before you ask. I'm a Spiritual person, normally what you would call a hippy ! |
