Strand Of Oaks – HEAL Lyrics

I believe the first stanza refers to the Sharon Van Etten song "Give Out". The lyrics are:
"It's not because I always give up /
It might be I always give out" |

From Pitchfork: "One of 2013's highlights, Blood Orange's "Uncle Ace" detailed the plight of NYC's LGBT homeless youth, loosed to drift through the city at the witching hour."

Lykke Li – Love Out Of Lust Lyrics

The tendency seems to be to put whatever feelings you have for the song into the meaning.
That being said, I read this song as one about being with someone temporarily. She knows that her time is limited and that they will both end up elsewhere, but prefers to be with someone than be alone. Kind of a 'two is better than one' type deal, enjoying the time they have for all it is worth, rather than wasting that time sadder and lonelier by themselves.

Also, "the knife to guide" seems likely to be "the light to guide". Seems like the person who posted this was doing a lot of guessing. |

Washed Out – Amor Fati Lyrics

Instead of "the words you've got to fight" I think that it is "the world you're going to find", which makes a bit more sense in the context of the song. |

I think those "Oh ..." are actually "Hold on" there at the end. |

This is one of my favorites from Saturdays = Youth. Check out the video for "We Own The Sky" if you haven't, I think it makes the song a little more accessible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzge5vY72hE |
