Barenaked Ladies – It's All Been Done Lyrics 13 years ago
Also, I feel the historical references are Hyperboles. Hyperboles basically are exagerated remarks to make a statement. He is just using hyberbole to show how long her has known her.

Barenaked Ladies – It's All Been Done Lyrics 13 years ago
I'm sorry, but is NO ONE thinking what I'm thinking? this song is obviously about a couple, and the female is no longer being satisfied sexually-- "it's all been done"

"if I put my fingers here"
yes this means.. well, fingering her.
he is trying new methods to pleasure her, but nothing works because "it's all been done" so everything is boring. and she wants something new!

Just a little tip, nerds love writing songs about sex. we can't help it. One week has multiple references to sex as well.

No this is not about vampires.

Snow Patrol – The Planets Bend Between Us Lyrics 14 years ago
to elaborate on geniena's comment, about them being on "the beach":

one thing I noticed is that him saying it is "floored with frozen Glass". As we know, glass is made from sand, (beach) and the winter time tells you it is "frozen". I think it was just a clever play on words, and is more poetic than just saying SAND.

geniena's comment was spot on perfect.

Pearl Jam – Crazy Mary Lyrics 14 years ago
i see what everyone's saying, but here are some differences i see:

"that what you fear the most, could meet you halfway"
-this i believe is talking about death, and if mary was middle aged, then death met her half way, through life.

after that, the narrator continues the chorus, saying "take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around", as if a last toast to mary.

just a few opinions.

Pearl Jam – The Fixer Lyrics 14 years ago
Great song, by a great band.

The lyric show signs of optimism, which may seem strange (Eddie tends to mostly right about sad, or horrific events). However, the lyrics still still show that the "character" is fighting for one's self, and standing up for its beliefs and/or material items and rights.

Just throwing this out there: maybe "The Fixer" is refering to Obama? The band did support him.. (and they're know for their political songs)
