all of the Xx songs seem like they were written about me! haha. well how i feel about this is like i'm feeling at the moment. i am so so so happy that i found someone that's like my soulmate! but at the same time i'm afraid of commitment, not because i would hate to lose my individuality and freedom. it's one of the terrible curses to being a saggitarious. :/ |

well when i read the lyrics to this song it immediately reminded me of Requiem For A Dream! okay the way i see it Bear is Marion and Monkey is Harry. basically in the movie Marion comes from a wealthy family whose parents (the "heartless hay-mongers") will give her as much money as she'll ever want but keep her from freedom and Harry. while Harry is just a heroin addict with dreams of money and success. anyways Harry tells Marion that they're gonna be happy and open up her fashion store for her designs that she's always wanted with the money they make from slanging heroin. but after everyone goes dry they become more and more desperate and Harry convinces Marion to have sex with her therapist for money. the couple continues to deteriorate as Marion begins prostituting herself for money and drugs. which she hates to do but does so for drugs and their dream of opening up her store. (prostitution= Bear dancing for money.) it just reminds me of it because Harry/Monkey was also just stupid and ignorant he really loves Marion/Bear and doesn't wish to just exploit or hurt her and while it hurts him that she is out there doing that he belives that it is just a sacrifice they have to make for the greater good and a brighter future for both of them. |
