Oysterhead – Shadow Of A Man Lyrics

How do you "surmise" that? Merely because there are many "-am" rhymes? Weak reasoning. And yes, he is a notable evangelist. |

David Byrne – Like Humans Do Lyrics

Look at the pattern of the lyrical mood, and listen to the chord voices along with those moods.
"I'm breathin in
I'm breathin out...waaaaoooo
So slip inside this funky house" correspond with what are traditionally thought of as positive chords.
"Dishes in the sink, tv's in repair
Don't look at the floor, don't go up the stairs
I'm achin, I'm shakin, I'm breakin like humans do" correspond with "negative" chords. And that's how the pattern works for the majority of the song (verses included). I think it makes for a great commentary about the positive and negative aspects of life, how they negate each other and leave us neither saying, "I love my life" or "I hate my life," but rather "This is just what we do, and the cycle goes on." |

The English Beat – I Confess Lyrics

Assuming that one of the three people is the girl involved, maybe the third person is the man (doesn't have to be a specific person; it could be any man) who is missing out on this girl because the narrator has her. He is completely apathetic about being with her, and he knows she could do better. This is why he says that their love is a sort of punishment. I don't know; it's a thought. |

The English Beat – Mirror in the Bathroom Lyrics

Why? Why say stuff like that? It's getting more difficult to find songs that don't have interpretations involving drugs on this site. Couldn't it just be about vanity and being introspective to the point of not being able to function socially? |

Miley Cyrus – Can't Be Tamed Lyrics

Here, Miley is doing what she does best, make cliched declarative-statement songs that have little depth or meaning. These sorts of songs appeal to equally shallow, ignorant people who make such declarative statements in their own lives. This is a self-centered song. I counted 73 instances within this song that she uses the word 'I' or a variant of it.
Everything within this song seems forced. For example, that line, "or tell you to go to Hell," was completely unnecessary. It adds nothing artistically and does not emphasize the point; it's just an avenue for her to "cuss" ("Hell" is a wimpy swear word, I think). She's trying way too hard. Look at the video. Goodness! It's not even art; it's disgusting propaganda for her disgusting face and her almost-decent body. She's trying so hard to "break away" from Disney. I'm going to pull a Miley here and make a cliche: "Living well is the best revenge." |

Rush – The Camera Eye Lyrics

Now let's not get ahead of ourselves. I don't want to get into an argument of "My Rush song is better than your Rush song". But there are better songs musically and lyrically that Rush has to offer. |
