I have no idea what this song means but I like it. I like how in Elliott Smith's cover he says "you can have it all but why would you want it?" Love that line - the original line ("you can have it all but how much do you want it?) and especially Elliott's version. |

this is one of my favorite lifter puller songs so i wanted to comment. i think the meaning is pretty straight forward. i like to cover lifter puller songs from time to time and this one seems to get the best response. great song. |

impact: there's so many songs out there and so many different creative minds that it's hard to not sometimes overlap. i don't think it's a direct rip off in this case - more that sometimes musicians come up with chords/melodies/lyrics/etc that are like other chords/melodies/lyrics/etc. sometimes it's intentional but mostly i'd guess it's not. i play guitar and find that happening once in awhile. i thought your comment was interesting nonetheless so thanks.
and not to start a flame war with sethandterra but calm down! :) it's just a song. it's just a message board. it's just someones opinion! the great thing about music is that no one is right or wrong and it's all personal preference. it'd be boring if we all liked the same things and we'd never discover new things. cool that you don't like the beatles or the beach boys.. good for you... no need to get so worked up over someone elses opinion on a message board about other peoples opinions/interpretations of songs! |
