I never thought of it this way, but it seems really spot on.

I can really see from other comments (like your one on Blue Lips) that you have a great love for God, I like that a whole lot, it's awesome.

I don't really know though, I have a hard time deciding if the golden bald spots line is about halos or if it's saying that, because the old men are "icons", they are more valuable to everyone, even though they really are just like the little old men on the park bench.

I think this song is really really sarcastic, so I don't think it's about heaven, hahaha. No disrespect intended or anything, it's just a thought of mine. I'm probably wrong.

I kinda feel like this song is about all celebrities and "icons" and how they are awarded and hailed but they really are just people.

Especially the part that says

"The icons are whispering to you,
they're just old men,
like on the benches in the park,
except their balding spots are glistening with gold."

Because the icons are just like the old men sitting at the park, but because of "iconism" (That's most-likely not a word, I just couldn't think of something to describe the thought in my head, haha), they automatically become more valuable to the people of the world. "balding spots made of gold etc."

But I'm probably wrong, I see that a lot of people are interpreting the bald spots glistening with gold as halos. Who knows? We could all be wrong.
