I think this song is about someone who is mission someone else.
I think "Things i cannot recall" means that they want to remember someone, but it's really painful to do so. So maybe the cannot means that it's kinda taboo, for themselves.

this song means nothing about twilight, at least not for me.
This song is about a cunning, strong woman who wants payback for some reason or another. She waits patiently for her victim, making them think they have all the power and that it's their game. But in actuality this is all her creation. She doesn't care about them at all, or at least not anymore. And she manages to do all this with grace and dignity.
Although there is a definite sad undertone to this song. As she gets rid of her foes, maybe she is finding that her life doesn't have that drive anymore. this has been her life's purpose for a while, but she can't let her enemies gain anything.
