I think this is a beautiful love song, sung by a woman to the man she considers the love of her life. "For you, they'll be no more crying For you, the sun will be shining" She wishes that her lover experiences no pain. That he has only sunshine. Only happiness. She believes that the sun actually SHINES for him. That his presence makes glorious things occur. "I feel that when I'm with you, it's alright, I know it's right" When she is by his side she feels at peace. She thinks they were meant for each other. "To you, I'll give the world, To you, I'll never be cold" They have been through so much together. She loves him so much that she wants him to know she'd give him anything in her power. They have previously hurt each other and she realizes how awful this is for both of them. She now feels complete trust and vows never to hurt him intentionally again. "Cause I feel that when I am with you, it's alright, I know it's right" Again, she is saying that she feels so good when she is near him. Everything is "alright" when she is by his side. The part that completely gets me is " Now all your love is wasted? Then who the hell was I?" "Who will love you? Who will fight? Who will fall far behind?" An incredibly emotional song. I love it. True love is NEVER wasted. Even if I fall far behind, I will still love you. Ugh. Caring for someone so much hurts. |

This song reminds me of how I have learned so much from love. I have learned that I am not the most important person on this planet. I have learned that faith is much bigger than adhering to the rules. That wrong and right, good and bad, these things aren't easy. There is a giant gray area. I've learned to be less judging of other people. That I believe in God for many reasons. One of the biggest reasons is that I think things HAPPEN to us for a reason. *Reading over some of these comments I think it is quite cool how this song really touches people in so many different ways and it makes them think. I have been thinking a lot lately about life and living & death and finality. I was thinking about how some people have said this could be about a break up or tragedy of some kind. Don't you feel when you go through a break up it IS a tragedy (if it was true love) and how that can feel like a death? That love you experienced changed you for the better and saying goodbye to that is heart breaking. I agree with Fallingslowly that it is about being deeply in love and remaining true to yourself. "You and I.. make something that no one else has". When you are in love it is painful denying that feeling. I agree with smilingfox. Love will sneak up on you. From the first time I heard this song, I thought it was pretty. It reminds me that life goes by so quickly and love is so rare and beautiful. Maybe "All the Right Reasons" means that you don't expect anything in return. He feels this woman has made him "live again" and what an incredible gift that is. **The only lyric that confuses me is, "little babies". I mean, I love little babies, but couldn't there have been something else there? |
