another awesome song by them, makes me want to just reach for the sun haha. i think this song just has a lot to do with how AJ wasn't sure aboutp laying music for his life. he had a war about doing it or not doing it. but then, positivy hit him, thats what all the "light" is talking about. i think the positity just came from music in general. thats what the whole "song inside the earth" and "getting lost in the sound". i think when he says "you" he's talking about music, because he's going to do it for the rest of his life. also the "when i needed you most" part refers to the dark times when he needed music the most in his life but it just wasn't there, and then he figured out how much it gave him. this is an amazing song nad i listen to it atleast once everyday. it makes me think more and more everyday about playing music for my living because of what its done for me. those days when i dont want to go to band practice or am not pumped i listen to this and it helps me remember when im playing and why im doing it and it gives me the attitude back that i had when i first started. its truly amazing and im definitely going to start listening to this before every show i play so i remember why im playing. and if you're reading this and wondering why, its because God and music helped save me from my depression this year and 2 years ago when i wanted to kill myself. i want to help the people who struggle with that like music helped me.

this is probably one of the most inspiration songs i have ever heard. This band is simply amazing and i can never thank them enough for writing about stuff like this. like thep erson above me said, this is based off of one of AJ's blogs. and i also agree that the blog is amazing. a lot of this song just has to do with people giving up on their dreams and going the normal route or whateer that everyone else goes to. working in a cubicle, being a doctor, etc. he feels bad because they "gave up on their dreams and they're stuck with that". this song justm akes my purpose of playing musis or doing more than becoming the typical office worker with my life even more evident. i like what AJ says with how everyone else is just like them, its just that they gave up. i think he was going to give up to, and he didnt and look where he is now. its not quite big but im sure its more than they ever imagined. i also like where he says "you're not a machine", because sadly thats how a lot of people's lives our. they're on this constant schedule and everydays the same. the get up, take a shower, etc and just walk around like a zombie. thats how i feel everyday at school and i really dont wanna do that for working too. thanks guys, you made my purpose so much more evident. this is a song i always listen to when i feel like giving up because it just expresses so much not to give up. |

i honestly did not realize this song was that reptitive haha. i cant stop listening to it, aweosme song. i think its about just about his dreams to make music and how a certain group of people (not sure who) just didnt wanna see him pursue music but he did it anyway. i think the i heard that pop part refers to maybve just like the sound of music and how he cant stop doing it. i can relate to this song because of my family; they want me to be a doctor or something but im going to pursue music no matter what...even if it does lead me to a lot of hardships like they think it will. |

this song paints an absolutely beautiful and bright picture. this is actually the first mae cd ive owned and im really liking it, i really need to pick up their other Cds. but yea i think in this song the fisherman represents God and how he loves us all equally and how we all need to do the same but its really hard to do so. "Oh, we all need some understanding We All Need Love" i think this line really fits well because when we dont love somebody we usually have a misunderstanding of them or pre judge them, we dont really get to know them. but once we see who they really are, why they are the way the are, then we understand them and love them like anyone else. |

i was talking to micah at a show i went to thursday about how Vices Like Vipers really made me not feel so alone with my struggles and he told me to check out this song. he said its basically a conversation between him and God and how he just doesnt see how God still uses him and wants him with all the crap hes done. i really wish i wouldve listened to them more before i went to the show because i couldve really talked to him a lot more. but ill be seeing them soon hopefully. |
