Rise Against – Halfway There Lyrics 14 years ago
This song could have something to do with taking your life from a low point to a high point. Kind of like going from depression to recovery and motivation in your life maybe? Maybe recovering from a drug habit or something else that would cause one to say they have had enough of something and wish to change their life.

But music is meant to have different interpretations based on the listener. =]

Mike is a stoner. He makes stoner music. We love stoner music.

The Streets – Stay Positive Lyrics 14 years ago
THIS SONG IS AMAZING. But it is really hard to explain. I think everybody could get a meaning out of it that applies to their own life. But there are obvious drug references and I think cannabis would really help anybody understand this song. =]

A lot of Mike's songs are about his own life and trying to come up in the hip-hop industry. I think anybody who has ever worked in music and live event promotion would really be able to understand his music.

I think it's about the relationships people have with eachother when depending on eachother's help for success. I also think it's about coping with the hard times of when we are not successful and life seems to be falling apart.

Part of the song is about life coming up when having to depend on yourself (be your own boss and pay yourself). And part of the song is about life working a 9-5 for a regular paycheck. Two different ways of living life. And two different types of people.

Gary Jules – Mad World (Tears for Fears cover) Lyrics 15 years ago
I believe this song is about how we are raised to have certain values and conform to certain beliefs. Some people realize that this is happening and are very saddened by it or pushed into retaliation. This song is about our institutions and our workplaces. Every day it is the same thing. People get bored and sad of it. They hate it yet that is how life is. It could also be about how every day we put our children in school. The same thing over and over again every day. The children are miserable. Yet one day out of the year, we make them happy with a birthday. I think it's a little bit of sarcasm. Ya life is miserable but let's have a special day to pretend like all of the negative things in this world do not exist and then go right back to the chopping block tomorrow!

This song is about how somebody who thinks outside of the box, somebody who can stand back and observe life as a whole (possibly standing on the roof in the Gary Jules video is a symbol for this), can see just how crazy the world is. The crazy trends people follow, everything in the media is always negative, pollution, politics, government. Negativity. Somebody who is not blinded by these things can feel very weird and alone in a world where people just accept or are blind to the things going around them in the world. It's a mad world and nobody really seems to notice.

That's my two cents. I think there is a lot more to it, but that is the extent of my contribution. =]
