I got so excited when I heard that Green Day had released a new single, so I went on Youtube and found it.
First impression: Not too different from their old stuff, although everyone is saying it is. It may have a different overall mood than what people are used to, but their general sound it just as good.
After thinking about it: The song grew on me, and although American Idiot is my all time favorite from Green Day, this song excites me about the upcoming album. |

From my view, this song is about a guy who is in a serious relationship with someone and realizes that although he wanted her so badly and more than anything ("all i ever wanted") it's not as perfect and wonderful as he had hoped and it "comes with a price." It sounds like she betrayed him or something and the love and happiness between them is fading. Maybe they're falling out of love.
I love this song because it's sad, romantic (if you don't analyze the lyrics too much lol) and a good song. It's a song you can cry to but one you can also slow dance to and sing along to.

Something about being sober, and/or pretending to be drunk or being drunk. this song is ALWAYS at my high school dances, so it pretty much remindss me of this whole school year. i used to listen to it all the time so it kind of lost it's awesome way of urging me to dance. i usually hate mainstream but i like this song. |

i agree with stagnate, i think it is about how she was with this guy who almost was stopping her from living her life, and slowly changing her into something she is not, and doesn't want to be. she broke it off, but when he wanted her back, she just said that she won't let this happen again. just what i think, i may be slightly off. |

the lyrics are actually pretty accurate, considering the song only came out... a few minutes ago on itunes. i can see this single becoming a big hit on the radio, just wait and see. i need to hear it a few times though before i decide i like it, though. i like her new sound, but i really want to see her make country songs. but i guess she won't get into country until a few more years into her career.
i like how this song tells how she feels when she steps onto the red carpet. she seems so natural and comfortable in front of the cameras to fans, but she is really not used to it all yet...

i love this song! when it was overplayed on the radio last summer, i got annoyed by it. but a year later... ive been collecting songs that i can really relate to for a while, and this is one of them. i agree, it's more than just a love song. as a love song, it really can help u get over a break up. but it has a great meaning and is actually really inspirational.

i think it's about something that is not a real relationship, but she falls for the guy, but their relationship never got anywhere. and then it ended and although he didn't share the same feelings, she's secretly heartbroken and tries to hide it in front of him to show him that she doesn't care, but she still does?

wow, what happened to jordin??? she has a great voice and she ruins it with the voice synchronizing whatever, bad lyrics that make her sound desperate. i have to admit, it's a good beat, and fun to listen and dance to. but i think jording could do better. and the "come up with some lame excuse" part reminds me of ashley tisdales "what if." sorry, it's not a bad song, just disapointed that jordin didn't show off her vocals in this one. |

this song has become so popular, not many listeners really notice the meaning anymore. it's a great song with good lyrics. old mainstream, but great. i think it's pretty easy to figure out what it's about, but just in case... it seems like it's about how she reconnects/starts dating again her ex-boyfriend, who in the past cheated on her or did something bad. he says he's changed, bla bla bla, so she decides to give him another chance. then she realized that she really doesn't care for him anymore, she's strong without him. and that's what this song is about... |

it seems like the song means something slightly different to everyone. to me, it's about a relationship that ended before it really started. it was too short, and wasn't really a romance, but she thought it was getting there, and then it somehow, suddenly ended. and he didnt feel the same about her. and although it really wasn't real and the guy seemed to fake it all, she just can't let it go what never happened and she is hurt.
i can relate to this song too well. i'm sure her stories probably a bit differnt than mine, but her lyrics are amazing and can mean different things. but anyone who has been through a similar thing can relate to this song. |
