The Black Eyed Peas – One Tribe Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Not really a fan of the Black Eyed Peas, but I'm loving this. Best song of the album by FAR. Only thing: I've always heard "Let's catch amnesia," not cast. But hey, that works too.. |
Stars – Wasted Daylight Lyrics | 14 years ago |
When she repeats the chorus at the end (overlapping the bridge - "In the way your hand hits..."), I'm pretty sure the lyrics change slightly. 2nd last time: "Wasted, tainted daylight" final time: "Wasted, hated daylight" Thanks ricebox for putting these up so quickly by the way! Gorgeous song - about lying in bed all day with someone you love in my mind. |

Stars – Life Effect Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Even though I don't choose to think of the song this way, I can see elements in it that indicate an abusive relationship. The girl sings: I found myself a decent man now I love him because I can The bravest that I've ever been was when I ran away from you. The fact that she uses the word "decent" seems worth noticing - implying something maybe? "I love him because I can" - it is a great feat to be able to love someone when you've experienced abuse, some people just don't know how to love afterwards... and from what I know it takes great courage to escape an unhealthy relationship sometimes, hence: "The bravest that I've ever been was when I ran away from you." Note also that it opens with him apologizing. Anyways, I love this song; soft, beautiful, simple, deep, and very Stars. |
Stars – Look Up Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I agree with Moses19 - bass is amazing. Does anyone else hear the spoken words running through the middle, a quote of some kind? What do they say? Or is the version I have of this song just messed up... |
Stars – What the Snowman Learned About Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I love that this song is written in 6/8 time. Adds a dreamy feel, rather than the standard, beat it out 4/4 time. |
Stars – The Aspidistra Flies Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Has anyone read the book it refers to in the title? It's called "Keep the Aspidistra Flying", and it's by George Orwell. From what I know of it, it's about this man who rejects his society's high value on money and what he suffers as a consequence. I was hoping someone had actually read it and could comment . . . |
