Chevelle – This Circus Lyrics 14 years ago
This is kind of a HUGE stretch from everyone else, but I kind of get the feeling of an "I told you so" moment. Like if aliens were real, he'd say it. Just sticking with the whole Sci-Fi Crimes idea. Like someone who has believed in aliens forever, then some events feeds the "mother" of all possibilities of alien life. Heard it oh so clear,(I used to think it was "honey you're so clean btw hahaa), hearing everyone go back on what they thought, saying "You were right all along." Like this guy is the one who wears tinfoil on his head and hands out literature that everybody thought was crazy till now. Everyone's idea makes sense though. Just my two cents.

Chevelle – Shameful Metaphors Lyrics 14 years ago
So your saying that these invincible guide lines people come to develop over time and through trial are actually obselete because they can be proven wrong at any time? Then what will they have to tell themselves. Nothing, Because these little ideas that they used as pick-me-ups at times aren't perfectly fitting and sometimes fail at explaining what they once always explained? ???

Maybe if Shameless Metaphors was after Highland's Apparation instead of this one. Still in the top three from this album, though.

Chevelle – Roswell's Spell Lyrics 14 years ago
Ya, a bit lengthy, but I think it explains the song pretty well. I think this song isn't just about alien abduction, but primarily is. I'll be reffering to two people in the "meeting" that happened as the listener and the speaker. The speaker being the one who witnessed this event and was, himself, abducted. And the listener is the one being told the story who has wrote this song in a wondering state of wishing he knew the real answer.

The first verse: "Life, it's always overblown. Untill we wake up and create some other needs." Maybe it's saying that our life is over-investigated and we should look into other stuff like aliens. Then it goes to talk about U.F.O. sightings and the "Dyad Scout Craft" is a U.F.O. that was supposedly spotted in more than one place on more than one occasion. It is said to emit extremely bright lights from the bottom, possibly "heat source rained down". "Hands reveal a meeting, but did they come?" Maybe the speaker who was abducted has some sort of scar which he considers proof.

"So I look at the eyes, straight to the soul doorway. I look at the eyes, know all that you know." Could be talking about how the listner could see that this man telling him this stories was honest from the look in his eyes or on his face.

Burning out inside and all that is talking about how the listener wants to know so badly if this is true or not. "Does anybody really see anything" is refering to how this could be a lie, a hoax people make up. Or could it be that the U.S. government is leading people to be a hoax. The listener wants the truth.

"Find an other labled hoaxes, just as Roswell found another link" These sightings are all similar. These "hoaxes" meight not be false or fabricated.

"Lights, too miles wide, felt them lift, felt them pull." This line is refering to the actual abduction.

"Finds and other labeled hoaxes, Just as Roswell found another link. Reform witness, night abductions You always felt a meaning, but did they come?" Maybe the sighting in Roswell is another "Dyad." Maybe, this is coming together, feeling real. Then says this "meaning" the listener felt is that the aliens really did land.

Yaa, that's about it. That's my input and thoughts on the song. I love Chevelle and their spectacular lyrics. Every song is great. Oh, and this is the Dyad Scout Craft I was reffering to. Pretty cool. http://nicap.org/dyad.htm . And if you dont know, Roswell, New Mexico is like the U.S. capital for U.F.O. sightings. Have a nice day.

Chevelle – Jars Lyrics 15 years ago
So, from what I can guess, I'd say this is about the war on terror and our situation worldwide as a country and super power. And saying how we should probably hold on to what makes our world a unique one by preserving what is peacefull before its too late because its unraveling fast. Also about the government exercising self control.

Hold on to chance, Lest we bleed ourselves- We're pushing our luck and losing numnbers in the war.

Then save for the pets, they're the lonliest- The pets are the soldiers? Who are lonely because of the situation? Maybe??? haha

Put into jars, we'll save this earth- Try to hold on what makes our world good in the midst of a shit storm.

We can't both become the same pawn that's made to fall- (I'm not sure about this one) Possibly saying
the military is designed to be expendable.

Oil that tastes like, blood that steals the summer's scent- The bloodshed of war is on people's minds and detracting from what summer is supposed to be, a nice, leisurely, vacation-like time. Even in "peace time" it still eats at people. And the oil was taken at a price.

From me to you, your stabbing me through you, you're stabbing you through him- The government and "getting the job done" at what ever costs. Even if it means the actions put other's lives at stake.

And betting most of this world, we'll add enough of the world- The government(?) puts the world at stake with there actions. It's important to remember the world in it's beauty to preserve it in a "jar" for viewing and memories.

Steal form yourselves, it never felt so good, And feed from their hands, confuse by opposites- We're slurring the bounds of stealing and recieving. Also, yourselves may be refering to the fact that we are a universal mankind, and to steal from someone, you're stealing from yourself. (Oil?)

Put into jars, keep safe this earth- Before the world kills itself, take part of it to guard and preserve.

Feeling manic for a day, depends on the trends, depends on the surface, if the sun never sets- The sun setting may be a metaphor for the war ending. The public viewpoint (like gas prices and the stock market and things the public sees) will be the ultimate say if the war is over.

This world, we’ll add enough of the world, is the main thing you’ll shout, till the bitter end- Kind of like an "I told you so" deal?

Yaaaa, that's what I pulled from it. But this is why I love CheVelle so much. Every song can be intrepreted differently by everone. And does anyone else LOVE the fact that the bass is so much more sudible in "Jars?" I love CheVelle.

( P.S. I'm not some kid trying to give my political views. This is just what makes sense to me. I'm not saying this is right, and the only way to interpret this song.)

The way i take it is:

"Fall to your knees, accomplishing nothing." = In prayer, you pray for selfishness

"Fall to your knees, only to exercise your schedule." = In prayer, think only of yourself. Your schedule is all that matters to you.

The video also explains awhole lot. Just about this guy who's all couped up in a cubicle. Then he takes what he sees around him to make a little imaginary world for his own sake. You need to watch the entire vid though.

Chevelle – Brainiac Lyrics 15 years ago
So, ya. It may be about this guy, One Cell, but what does it say about him?
I think it might be a semi-inspirational song about proving all those who doubt you wrong by doing the "impossible."

All these tests of Character?

"He's gotten through the piss" = beating people's expectations

"So he can blame few" = Calling out people for under-estamating him

"Slept off the chainsaw buzz" = Ignoring the constant doubts

"This passing eye-sore" = It'll be over soon and these people will be proven wrong

"Lift up the head so proud." = He did it and has proven himself

"Imagine this one cell." = People are starting to realize this guy is'nt just "One Cell" anymore but a Brainiac.

"Time holds us for the minute," = They're stunned by "One Cell."

"So recent all the surge, They're pushing off the chart." = He's starting to "do something."

But that's my interpretation, be it a little late haha. I love this song and this band. This is the reason too, so great to interepert.
