Taking Back Sunday – My Blue Heaven Lyrics 15 years ago
In my mind I think it's about a boy and girl who were once a thing, but continued to stay friends. Before they even dated though, they were different: "Two sides twist and then collide".

"Twisting heartache into fine little pieces that avoid an awful crime" and "I'm both a patient boy... (well) and a jealous man (Am I coming...)" make it seem like she's now with someone else, and he still has feelings for her but she's with someone else now. So it hurts him, but since they are friends, he'll be patient and he just ends up convincing himself and others he's perfectly fine because he's tired of being heartbroken and being sad.

"And it's all too familiar and it happens all the time." and "But it's you I can't deny." The first one seems like it's saying that it seems so cliche, but (now to the second quote) he'll always love her, and he will always be her friend. And he can't deny that he really wants to be just with her.
Also the "And it's all too familiar" line seems like this keeps happening, she comes to him and he keeps falling back in love with her when he thinks he's getting over it.

"Sometimes it just feels better to give in..." seems like he is just going to give in with whatever it is that she wants to do, he won't fight it. LIke staying friends - becasue staying friends never helps after breaking up.

"We swing and we sway..." that part seems like I said before, he'll always love her, so he'll be there when her and her boyfriend (after him) break up to make her feel better.

I don't know for sure, but that's my idea. I related it to my situation, so it makes sense, but it might just all be confusing and weird.
