| Further to my Mat Brooke suggestion, the album has a lyric from the song ("Where did you go") next to a picture of a bar. Mat Brooke went to run a bar afer he left BoH, so maybe suspicion confirmed, which adds quite an edge to the song. | |

This song is this album's ISLANDS ON THE COAST, with really hard to hear lyrics. Line 1 could end simple THING not phrase?? Line 5 could be ANIMAL rather than anymore?? I think the chorus says LONG day, not wrong day - but well done for getting the rest of the chorus - brilliant! It's definitely are you ALIVE to think of in verse 2. Nice one for posting these, what a fabulous song! |

Hi - you beat me to getting this one on! What a fantastic song, I saw this live having never heard the song and was blown away - Tyler's guitar work was really something! You got a couple of lines I didn't, nice one, I have a couple of suggestions though... Verse 2, Line 1 it's AN HOUR LATER rather than NOW OR LATER Line 3 I think is wrong but is a bit indecipherable! Does he mention some American brand of candy bar? Certainly the word MOUNTAIN is in there somewhere. The 2nd chorus is... A man gets lonely for heaven’s sake He’s wondering only what did you do today The world spin around me to an old sad song The 3rd verse starts IT'S COMING DOWN OUTSIDE... (ie raining) 3rd chorus, 2nd line is THAT TIME GETS WASTED IN THIS MISERY Hope this helps. Still more than 3 weeks until I can get my hands on this CD!! Regards, Ian. |

| Ha, I hadn't really paid attention to the video and that IS a yellow dog! But as you say, the lyric IS "dawn" - maybe the guy who did the video misheard (which is pretty funny!) or more likely Ben is playing with the listener (After all this is a guy who wrote a song where he sings EYELIDS WANT TO CLOSE in the chorus and titled the song ISLANDS ON THE COAST - go figure!) | |

Wow, that 2nd part of the second verse is a nightmare to decipher! It's definitely A KITCHEN KNIFE UP TO MY FACE (as if that nice Ben would swear!!) Now, there's no such thing as a KIA LORENZO - there is a KIA dealership at LORENZO, TEXAS but isn't it more likely he says KEY AT LORENZO???? There's no JENNER LAKE in Texas, there is a Jenner Pond Lake in Sonoma, CA - but who knows? Let's hope the CD has lyrics - I doubt it though!! |

| Hello (again) well I think you're right about 'along' rather than 'or longer'. Smoke rather than small? You're probably right there too although I'm not 100% sure, but I'll change that too. As for the second line, there's definitely a "that" in there, partly covered by the backing singer saying "old tree" - I really think it is OLD, so I'll leave that line the same. Brilliant, it IS 'never could have read it aloud' - which actually makes a lot more sense following on from the 'silence...' line, I've made the change. As for the other suggestion, who knows, I'm sticking with waht I've got, as Mat said in 'Left For All the Strays,' 'I slurred some words and I knew it.' !!!! Thanks for your input. |
