I'd say the eating disorder theory could work, there's another reference in Laura Laurent, sortof. I have no idea about this, it just seems to crop up a lot in his lyrics. Obviously the song isn't all about that though. |

Jeez when I heard this song, SO HAPPY. It's going to be an amazing album. I just hope it isn't tooooooo pop-y. But then again, if Jónsi could pull it off it could be cool.
As much as I love this song though, I like it better when he sings in Icelandic/Hopelandic, it's a bit weird being able to understand what he's saying. |

I think with Mew songs there is never really a certain precise meaning in them, as a lot of the lyrics come from Jonas' dreams and such. Trying to find your own meanings in them is good and everything, but I kindof like not understanding them all the time, and how vague they are. I don't really think there's any precise meaning in here, or maybe something only Jonas knows. :) |

I love this, and like the others I think it's about a paedophile. But, the feel of the song is just so sad, I think it's not about how disgusting this man is.. more that he's fading away, and all that brings him joy is these children. Which, of course, is just so wrong, and this is why the singer wants to rip his lampshade off and tell the world- perhaps, they are meant to have been close friends, but the man is so ashamed he never told him. This is just how I feel about it, it's probably wrong. C:
