| anorexia is such a sad thing :( this song is really powerful. i know how this girl feels because i battled with an eating disorder (not quite anorexia but i would skip meals often and ate very little) a few years ago. i am glad to say that i am healthy now, and i hope this song inspires girls (and boys) with eating disorders to become healthy. | |

Simple to me really. Nothing really hidden in the lyrics. Boy likes girl. Doesn't know how to tell her. Writes a letter addressed to girl. He tells his friends about it and tells them he is too chicken to deliver it. He is going not going to give the letter to her, but the letter fall from his hand and is carried by the wind to the girl. I think that "they" are the people you talk about when you say something like "they say that this place is haunted" or "they say that taking too many hot baths are unhealthy" or something. Who really are THEY? Jem says: "Who are they, And where are they, And how can they possibly Know all this?" I agree with the majority... I think that the singer is threatening her rapist. But rather than physically like he hurt her, mentally in a way she is better at. The lines: "Where did your pleasure go, When the pain cut through you? Where did your happiness go?" are her reminding him that he was so happy from her pain, now why isn't he happy when she gets to hurt him? A way of showing him what it's like to be the victim. Also "I wanna blow you... Away" obviously contains clever wording, by saying she wants to blow him, and she also wants to shoot him or abolish him. So by taking something he wants and turning it against him she is killing him in his own game. Maybe my explanation was a little too confusing.. but whatevs, that's how I interpret this song. |

I think that the song is saying that there is a price for being beautiful or "art" The line: "Well you're art, you fell into this part You play the victim perfectly " in my opinion translates that while being beautiful to look at, you are nothing more than a pretty object, a muted bird, and a victim. But this is just my interpretation... feel free to agree or disagree. |
