Sir Sly – Gold Lyrics | 1 year ago |
Sounds like his ex-wife won a hefty amount of alimony in the settlement. I definitely see this as a send-off. "Pocket full of gold and I hope you find your dream. Darling, never settle" That and "I don't owe you a single thing, not a god damn thing" Definitely some symbolism here too but I think a lot may be literal considering the state of his life. |
Secret Machines – I Want to Know If It's Still Possible Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Such a beautiful, melancholic melody. The music reflects such an innocent uncertainty projected by some of the lyrics. In a few places it sound like a young relationship, and in others it feels like one that is not reciprocated, completely one-sided...borderline obsession even. Then again, that can happen in young relationships, haha. I can't make up my mind :) |
