I fixed the lyrics. |
Mae – The House That Fire Built Lyrics | 14 years ago |
there new music is far from garbage. Fanboys? Mae has very few of those if any. People love Mae because they write amazing music, and they don't pigeon hold themselves to one style. If Mae went out and released DB2 and DB3, nobody would like them because they wouldn't have grown as a band. Don't get me wrong, I love DB and EG, but I think SG is pretty amazing too. Crazy 8s and Just Let Go are two of their better songs. I admittedly have not listened much to (m)orning or (a)fternoon because I just got the latter. I am starting to, and I really like this song. I'd say bands like Mae and Anberlin deserve a lot of respect because they never release the same album twice, but manage to keep what keeps them unique. :D |
Circa Survive – Living Together Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Not sure what the correct lyric is, but "prevade" is a word. It is commonly used in a religious context. I am not sure if it is a Websters word, but it means "to awaken within a crowd". Which is why I believed this song to have religious meaning to some extent. |
Go Radio – In Our Final Hour Lyrics | 14 years ago |
People in my house decided to hide the EP from me when it got to my house, so I just got the booklet. Just posted what the booklet says. |
Stages And Stereos – We All Make Mistakes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I was coming back here today to change it because I had finally figured it out a week or so ago. Look at this team work. Lol. |
Greene Reveal – Hourglass Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It was so awesome listening to this the first time. I have 'Karakul Carpets VA' and 'Karakul Carpets (Live)' on my iPod. I was really disappointed when I first got the new album. Cause this is probably my favorite song by Greene Reveal. Then when I got to 'Hourglass' I was totally ecstatic. |
Go Radio – Thanks For Nothing Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I read a quote by Jason once, saying that people should understand that everyone in Mayday have their hearts in the right place. And that there was so much he wished he could tell everyone. I am pretty sure they are over it. Jake posted on his blog how hard it was for him when Jason's dad was sick, and he couldn't be there because he was on tour. I think if there is any bad blood it is between Jason and Derek, but I doubt it is anything too bad. I mean Derek seems to be happy in Mayday, and Jason seems to be happy in Go Radio. I mean the studio updates show him as one of the happiest men on the planet. The girl could be Katy, but I am not sure if the song was written about her. |
Stages And Stereos – We All Make Mistakes Lyrics | 14 years ago |
good catch, just changed them. i also changed the last line of the first verse. i heard it today and realized what he was saying. still gotta a few things to fix in the second verse. |
We the Kings – The Story of Your Life Lyrics | 14 years ago |
"Lyrics coming in a few minutes; sorry " are not the correct lyrics. lol. jk. here are the correct ones, to save you the trouble: The story Of your life is so twisted Cause someone out there is missing Everything you do You're wasted Nothing ever really makes sense If you keep searching you'll find it Hidden inside you So leave behind your troubled eyes See brand new what I can do Just say yes, if you really want me to We can stay like this Or go, go, go We can take it too fast Or take it slow We can spend our lives ocean side Or count the stars in the desert on a magic night You can lie awake in bed Or come and sleep with me instead If you give me one chance to take your hand I'll fill the empty pages as you write The story of your life The story Is unwritten So put me down as your ticket Don't even fight it You're shaken You're not sure of the ending But let me be the beginning Just put it in writing So leave behind your troubled eyes See brand new what I can do Just say yes, if you really want me to We can stay like this Or go, go, go We can take it too fast Or take it slow We can spend our lives ocean side Or count the stars in the desert on a magic night You can lie awake in bed Or come and sleep with me instead If you give me one chance to take your hand I'll fill the empty pages as you write The story of your life This is now No I don't mean maybe Just want to scream And call you baby, now Take a chance And call me crazy Smile, kid There's only one way out We can stay like this Or go, go, go We can take it too fast Or take it slow We can spend our lives ocean side Or count the stars in the desert on a magic night You can lie awake in bed Or come and sleep with me instead If you give me one chance to take your hand I'll fill the empty pages as you write The story of your life Fill the empty pages of your life Fill the empty pages of your life |
Go Radio – When Dreaming Gets Drastic Lyrics | 14 years ago |
just posted the official lyrics. =) |
Circa Survive – Living Together Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Before I post this, to all of the people who are arguing over whether it is christian or not, it doesn't matter. Anthony said it best himself in his interview with Synthesis.net in July 2007. He is going to write songs about what he wants, and everyone who hears them will have his/her own personal take on the song. Their OWN interepretation. He accepts it. Personally, I don't think this song is anti-spiritual, but talking about dislike to organized religion. Like there is a God, but organized religion destroys the truth. Please note that I am not talking about christianity, but organized religion as a whole. I am a Christian, in the fact that I believe a lot of what they teach. But I also feel the Bible is more of a book of guidelines rather than a book of absolute fact. I personally do not care if anyone (religious or non-religious) agrees with me. I have taken a lot of theology classes and actually a decent understanding of different religions. And through all that time I formed my own opinions. Some of my opinions have spilled into my interpretation of this song. I won't deny that. But I don't think all organized religion is bad, I just think people cling to it as an escape. Rather than finding their own way to worship God. With that I will break down what the song means to me, (if you agree- cool, if not- remember this is my opinion not yours): "It starts out like a season in reverse A way to set your mind above and over words Attached means identity Erases things so how can we record?" I think this is talking about how people look to organized religion to look for answers. But they don't always go to it for the right reasons. Then they conform to the religion and loose their indivualism because they now classify themselves as a group. (Living Together) And they think that doing so will erase their sin forever. "Distress call code-word is 'I wanna live' He makes it up as he goes and it goes away To places he can only hide in other peoples' minds He makes it up as he goes It goes away" I think this is talking about how people turn to religion in fear of what there is after death. So they join a church looking for answers. But those who run the religion make up new rules and meanings over time. "Your rational mind's insane Taste the sound you make The light from the sun The story that never gets old The light from the sun is your mother Attached means identity Erases things so why should we?" I think this is saying that those who take what they hear, see, and sense to form their own personal beliefs are looked down on by those who believe strictly what the organized religions teach. Even if the things the organized religion teach don't make sense to the person. With an effortless smile you prevade to me And in-between aisles They would say you stare to see With an effortless smile you prevade to me Always in-between aisles optimistic daring me Would you trade your soul for gold? Would you trade your soul? Would you trade? I think this statement is about the people who are trying to get him to believe in their ideas. You know, the people who push their religious beliefs on other people. They are asking him to trade his self being for "gold". I personally do not think it is real gold since AG is known for using metaphors. I think the gold refers to all the promises religious groups will promise you if you worship God in heir way. Much like how Catholics preach that you must attend mass and confession to stay sinless, in order to get to heaven. Like I said earlier, maybe it is because I have my own beliefs that I am not going to change just because someone tells me something else. I am not going to forget all that I believe just because someone else tells me I am wrong. Whatever man. That is kind of the feeling I get when I hear the outro. |
Circa Survive – Oh, Hello Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i think what thebeard said sounds pretty interesting. it is possible he wrote the song to relate to both. it could be about hearing cove's version of i can tell, but at the same time take a lot of influence from eternal sunshine. |
Saosin – I've Been Dying to Reach You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
technically yes, but there was a lot of confusion when this song came out. anthony wrote it and did the vocals, but it was before he left the band. justin shekoski played both guitar parts on the original recording, and scott from weezer played drums. and since it had that translating the name guitar distortion, people thought it was saosin. there are like 3+ versions of the song, i think. |
Saosin – I Can Tell (Cove's version) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i just wanted to point out, that these are the lyrics for the live version from come close dvd. in cove's studio recording of this song, the only difference is the drums, the guitar distortion, and the tempo. |
Go Radio – Forever My Father Lyrics | 14 years ago |
yeah, its his brother daniel lancaster. and his sister erin lancaster. erin is in a few other songs. maybe we'll make it after all by stages and steroes, at least we're still alive by we are action, and another new song that hasnt been released by go radio. |
A Skylit Drive – Ex Machina Lyrics | 14 years ago |
personally, i think this song is about a guy who realizes that a girl is controlling his life. he has seen it happen to other people and so he tries to break free. but then she takes control again. |
A Skylit Drive – City On The Edge Of Forever Lyrics | 14 years ago |
it is not about final fantasy 10. it took influence from final fantasy to tell a story that other people relate to. |
A Skylit Drive – Knights Of The Round Lyrics | 14 years ago |
the songs are not based off of final fantasy. they do however take influence from them. i personally think that the song is about a relationship gone sour. |
A Skylit Drive – The Children of Adelphia Lyrics | 14 years ago |
adelphia is the greek word meaning brotherhood. |
Go Radio – Thanks For Nothing Lyrics | 14 years ago |
well that is just a little harsh... i knew it wasn't tree. it was just when the song first came out i had only listened to it once when i wrote them out. so that was the word i was hearing. the other day in my car i heard dream so i came to switch it. thanks for helping out. though they are my favorite singers, sometimes the lancaster boys are hard to understand. (i have been trying to write the lyrics for jason's old band second rate out...) i agree about the derek thing. when jason talked to derek about how he never mentioned him in interviews derek said something along the lines of "i understand if we can't be friends anymore." i like how you pointed out derek and not the band. though jason also said in the same statement that the whole band had their hearts in the right place. |
Mayday Parade – If You Wanted a Song Written About You, All You Had to Do Was Ask Lyrics | 14 years ago |
i heard that jason wrote that part, but it was written as a double message. it totally fits the song, but the parts jason wrote are apparently also about him leaving mayday parade. "And you dropped the note and we changed key You changed yourself and I changed me I really didn't see us singing through this Then you screamed the bridge And I cried the verse And our chorus came out unrehearsed Then you smiled the whole way through it I guess maybe that's what's worse" that is supposedly about how he was going to leave before they finished recording the album. "Take me home I'd rather die than be with you Take me home You have a problem with the truth Take me home Because this happens Every time I knew it would I knew it would" that is supposedly another thing he was saying to the band. the part about this happens everytime and i knew it would is about how it always happens when he is in a band. there always seems to be problems. (please note that this is what someone who toured with go radio said. but if you think about it, totally makes sense.) |
Stages And Stereos – Fall a Little Harder Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i accidentally hit send to soon. it is one of my favorite lines ever, and is pretty self explanatory. but dang it is poetic. daniel lancaster is my hero. |
Stages And Stereos – Fall a Little Harder Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"Lets raist those glasses high And don't you know the way to be caught off guard At just the right time" should be "Lets raise our glasses high And toast the night away To being caught off guard At just the right time" |
Chiodos – Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek Lyrics | 15 years ago |
well lucky for the world, your opinion doesn't truly matter because you are narrow minded and have no taste and probably no talent in music. so have fun basking in the fact that this band which you can't comprehend their success, will always be more popular than pretty much anything you will ever do with your life. |
Chiodos – Baby, You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i think it is about two friends who are in love, but they are afraid to become lovers because that would ruin what they had. so they decide to pretend that they do not love each other, and not actually walking away from each other, but the idea of love. and because they love each other and can't easily deny their feelings they put each other and themselves through hell. |
Chiodos – One Day Women Will All Become Monsters Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think that it is from the point of view of a guy who was madly in love. Him and and his wife. But then she ran off with some other man. He is saying that no matter what happens, women will always find a way to break your heart. |
Stages And Stereos – Living Without You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I am pretty sure that this song is talking about Daniel Lancasters father. He died sometime in 2007. The song "Forever My Father" by Go Radio is a song where Jason, Erin, and Daniel Lancaster all sing about their father's death. I can only assume this is Daniel's lyrical tribute. |
Mayday Parade – Jamie All Over Lyrics | 15 years ago |
That is not Mayday Parade's version. That is the version by Kid Named Chicago. Mayday Parade does not sing: You wore the red shirt that I love I sang the song that I wrote you We laughed our way down the beaches As we dance around the issue That is only in the original version of the song, done by Kid Named Chicago. Derek Sanders doesn't even sing in that version. He was in Defining Moment, not KNC. |
The Prospect – Blank Until Later Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is titled "Curator". It is amazing, especially the unplugged version. |
Mayday Parade – Sleepers Just Don't Lyrics | 15 years ago |
ok, so after talking to someone from keepsake summer, this is what i learned about this song. before mayday got there name, jason used the name keepsake summer as the band name and entered when i get home into some contests. then the band chose their name together as mp. then someone from ks asked jason if he would mind if they used that name as their band. he didn't care and so confusion ensued. DanceLandonDance is right about what he said, but this is the rest of the story. this song is by keepsake summer, a good band, not mp. both bands are good bands. |
Mayday Parade – I Swear This Time I Mean It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this is an amazing song. it is really good, you can tell there is a slight different in the lyrical style without jason. but it is still crazy amazing and still has that mayday feel. i think that derek said, "But How She's Oh Serene, You've Got To Help Me Out." it makes a little more sense and fits the song a little better in my mind. |
We the Kings – Headlines Read Out... Lyrics | 15 years ago |
if you listen to the version off of Between the Ink and Paper (the original version), it is almost a completely different song. The lyrics are so different. |
We the Kings – I Gave Birth to the Twentieth Century Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this, in my mind, is we the kings best song. it is such a piece musically. it combines so many genres together. i think they should rerecord it. i wish their new stuff was more like this... it is still good though. |
Sparks The Rescue – Nurse, Nurse (I'm loosing my patients!) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i totally agree. the main reason i listened to this song twice in a row when i first got it was because of the way alex said some of the words. like "thank" in the opening line. |
Sparks The Rescue – Autumn Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i love this song. the way i see it reminds me of this relation this girl and i have. i think they have been chasing each other in circles, like one would like the other, but they would never like each other at the same time. now he is finally calling her out on it because he is tired of the way it is effecting his life. but she is unsure of how she feels, and doesn't know what to do. so i think he is asking her to think back to the summertime, when i am guessing the two had the most fun together and it was apparent to everyone that they liked each other. and i think he is just trying really hard to be with her, even though she can't seem to make up her mind, and it has been making him lose sleep. everytime he sees her he remembers all the fun they used to have. |
