To me this song is about heartbreak how you "Get away for awhile" and how it takes time to think things through before you actually feel anything and that's when you, "i get to cry"
You soon get over it and "Live my life" but no matter how much you say you have a "heart of stone" you still feel the hurt.
That's just my thought on it. |

I think this song may be about someone who is close to a friend or someone who is thinking about commiting suicide.
"You're tired of waking up." giving up on life, and when she cries he doesn't want her to, since it's not her fault they feel that way. The singer feels bad for him, and doesn't want him to go, "When i start to cry, you say i'm not allowed to."
The person who feels like giving up has tried reaching out to his parents "you're parents tried but they didnt know how to." Which could also lead to the suicide thing, since he doesnt know how to better himself since he was never taught. The singer wants to stay by his side, but he's pushing away, trying to convince her that it's okay. "Let me stand by your side."
But no matter what she says he wants to give up.
The 'burning beacon in the night' is like a light of hope, salvation if you will. but it cannot reach her friend. "can't feel it's heat." He is too far gone into the mind set of letting everything go.
Maybe it's because i've got through a situation like this, but that's what it reminds me of. Might not be it, but could be? |

This song really does sound like its written about a friend with benifits. But there could be also a deeper meaning with the whole "I make myself unhappy so you'll go without me oh what's wrong with you?"
Maybe there was an extreme case of jealousy (which often happens with friends with benifits) and so as a reaction to that she'll make herself unhappy to appeas him. Every girl who has been in a simular situation can relate to this song!

This song to me is about a girl who was deeply in love with a guy, and he just up and left her. "wondering what you meant by goodbye."
Then later she must see him again and not know how to react, and neither does he apparently. "how long has it been since you came looking and saw me as i really am?"
As the song goes on it expresses how she feels about being alone, and she wonders what he's doing now. "But somehow you're already on your own."
This song is beautiful and hold a lot of emotion. From my persepective at least. |

But this is my all time favorite Star Fucking Hispers song. it's deep, and emotional. Wanting to be in a different, sleep-like world instead of the reality of things.
It always reminds me of my ex-best guy friend. haha, so ironic. especially the last verse. |

My interpretation of the song is that it's about him loving this girl and she leaves him for something better, "I hope the lights are green from silver sheets and diamond rings. Will be enough to ease your pain." like she didnt love this better thing, but made the choice anyways, and he is venting about it. And that no matter what he does, he cant have her, because he cant get her back. |
