| fantastic song. i thing it's pretty straightforward - two people in a relationship and the one singing obviously really appreciates their relationship and love (Even when my luck is down, I take joy in that our love grows) but recently this person has not been treating the other as well as they should be, which they realize (Because lately I've wronged you And not been on your side, love Maybe I have been dumb) and they're realizing more and more that the other person deserves better (It's getting hard to keep pretending I'm worth your time) but they're not ready for that yet and don't want to acknowledge it / just keep pretending like everything is fine (Please don't ask me why) | |

I adore this song. To me it's about two people in a relationship that used to be really happy together but now, later on in the relationship, things are changed and it's just like they're existing in a lie by being together. I think they're both afraid to let go of the love they once knew but in the end they know it's inevitable that they're going to split up. And they're asking themselves that if they could try again, would it still work out? But they know that it will always come to the same ending. But maybe they could take time off from each other until the summer, and then see where they stand. And maybe spend their time together that whole summer, and see if things could work out again. If not, it's always nice to spend time in the company of someone you once loved. That's what I got from it. |
