Yeah, I've seen a few comments on a lot of songs claiming drug references, but the only song I can think of that has any is "Friend of Mine." There has to be others, but Matt Berninger's just a poet. His descriptions of things are often abstract, some almost stream of consciousness and others surrealist. It's a fair enough assumption by some though since a lot of songwriters just throw in a shit ton of references into their songs and we're kind of surrounded by them day to day. |
