no comments? well i'm not sure the whole meaning but it seems to be about a girl who is searching for love and keeps getting rejected... the middle verse starting with "her smile sketched and painted..." i dont think was written write, because i took the last two lines as "either way her wings will burn, unless she learns to turn and fly away" and i thought that was an allusion to the story of Icarus... the boy who flew too high and his wings melted so those lines would mean that this girl needs to come back to reality and stop looking for love at such high standards also the last verse is very touching, "how she walks the world and how the world walks over her" he's not just warning about setting standards too high, but how her high hopes make her vulnerable |

wow... LOVE this song, its so beautiful and simple its pretty straight forward with its meaning, basically shes trying to make herself believe that she will get over this boy by using different things like he wasn't the one or that she'll find someone who really cares. to really get the feeling and inspiration you should listen to the song, like i said... beautiful |

| i think its the mix of play on words, the rocky relationship and the alcohol metaphor, which isnt just in the last verse but also in the "tongue tied... go to my head" part how her addiction to this love is like being drunk. also in the "sound of love coming down" because its like love is being poured, but definitely just a metaphor because there's a sense of a two way street where she says that "it won't be easy" and then "we'll do it your way" | |

| yes i agree that she's being honest and optimistic, but there's a hint of irony when she says "all good things come to an end" because she's kind of saying i wish that all your good things come to an end... maybe i'm interpreting it wrong, but it just seems as though shes trying to keep herself positive by wishing him well, but that in between those wishes she really wants him to suffer too. | |

at first i didn't like this song as much as some of the other weepies songs, but after i've listened to it i can really appreciate its beauty. the first verse is really about being shunned, which can in ways relate to the book the outsiders but i think the song is mainly about not belonging and when it says "From here i see rain i hear thunder somewhere there's sun" these lines to me say that right now i'm in this stormy dark place, but the sun is shining somewhere and i just have to get there... and this leads to the last verse "open your window and look upon all the kinds of alive you can be" and so again its saying you may not belong now, or feel good now, but you can change your life really inspirational song |
