I love not knowing exactly what this song is about. It's vague enough that we can all interpret it in our own way. I see him talking to a wife/girlfriend, a child. I personally think if my young siblings( we have a significant age gap). Also, I do believe he may be speaking to all of humanity. It's beautiful to think of it like that. If you think of it in that way (and you have a faith which believes in God) it's almost powerful enough to be a hymn. As if the song is God and humanity conversing on their relationship. It's a beautiful song. <3 |

Alex has such a big heart. how could anyone leave him like that when they were going to get married? and since Vegas and Remembering Sunday are about the same girl i think its safe to say she wasn't just a one night stand, they were in a relationship. which makes what she did even worse. listen to Vegas its clear in there. |

I think this song is him talking to an old childhood friend. A little girl who was probably his best friend that he grew to love more. They seem to have tried to have a relationship but it didn't work out so they're not friends anymore. and he misses her and how she used to be. he misses their childhood and friendship and just the innocence of it all. i think the whole "afraid to fly" thing is referencing his emotions now that she is missing in his life. |

I think this song is about a guy whose girlfriend died and he is kind of in denial. I first i thought she killed herself when she says 'I've done something so terrible' but then i realized that she wouldn't be in Heaven, which is basically said that she is there, and if she killed herself there is no possible way she would be 'at home in the clouds.' So I'm guessing she cheated on him before she died and is kind of saying sorry she never really loved him. |

Great song. Even my mom loves it. I love how it just basically means that nothing is worth having unless you have to fight for it. Nothing can stop you from reaching our dreams, and the actual dream isn't whats important, it's what you did to reach the goal. Its beautiful, her best song yet! |

I read all the other comments and I can't help but feel that everyone has it backwards.
I don't think its about a girl he knew that changed. I think he was the one who changed, and he knows it. The girl probably stopped being his friend because of the way he changed. I think he is seeking help to change back, so obviously he changed for the worse. And he can tell that because he changed, he is different in the girl's eyes, who he seems to love. He can also tell that he makes her nervous when hes around now, so I'm guessing he is on drugs or something. And when he says he's 'afraid to fly' I think it is his fear to change back, probably because he is getting off the drugs or w/e he is on. |
